i got curious about your question so i used the search box to know about it;-) it was very inspiring~ they say the rite involves a blindfolded Indian youth being brought deep into the forest by his father. he's supposed to sit on a stump and go through the night without taking his blindfolds off. the experience ought to be creepy because you hear all sorts of sound, from those of crickets and to growls of bears:-S, but he isn't allowed to cry for help. when the sun shines through the blindfold, the youth is then allowed to remove it. he then finds out that his father was sitting beside him all along, protecting him through the night. it's very nice. i kinda felt happy after reading it.(^_^)0

I know the legend is very inspiring , thats why i did not want to tell the story of the legend i wanted you all to do the search and read it. And you know the moral of the story ? JUST BECAUSE YOU CANT SEE GOD DOESNT MEAN HE IS NOT THERE "FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT."

yeah my source added that part. but i chose not to include it; i didn't want to offend anybody. don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian myself. i just thought that the Indians themselves do have their own reasons for the activity, and i didn't want to just incorporate my Christian views on it though the moral totally coincides...
