Watermelon and black people?

I'm asian and I love watermelon too. Racial stereotypes are what it is, baseless assumptions of a certain race. A lot of people say black people love fried chicken but there are also a lot of people who are not black but love fried chicken as well. There is not really a beginning to a stereotype because it's mostly based on observations of a group about another group. If you are an immigrant then I think you have encountered at least one racial slur about your race that you didn't really notice before. It's all about the cultural perspective. I came from Vietnam and when I came over here, people told me that it's super easy for me to get straight A? Back in Vietnam we have nothing of the kind because we don't observe ourselves compare to people of another race.

I never heard about this stereotype.I guess I'm not a racist that's why I don't see any connection between watermelon and black guys. Was it because during the times of slavery they were given this fruit to eat or sth?Don't pay attention.
