Do you know what happened in the Balangiga massacre? I lived the first 14 years of my life in the Philippines and I only got to learn some parts of the history in high school. I'm 19 now living here in the USA. I just learned about this part of our history when I listened to the RadioActive Sago Project's song called Ballad of Balangiga. At first, I thought it was just Lourd ranting but then I did some research and found the truth. It's really sad that they the Americans called it massacre when the residents of Balangiga were just acting for self defense. I recommend you listen to the song first.

The Americans landed on the town of Balangiga in Samar during the Philippine-American war. More than forty Americans were killed by a guerrilla attack butchering them with bolos. They called this a massacre? why? it is just an act of self defense. The Americans responded by killing many innocent lives. It is like genocide, the order was to "Kill everyone over ten" and worse things happened. I was pissed when I learned about this.

Oh, it's a shame that I haven't really heard of this... Anyway, I admire you of being patriotic still, I mean listening to Filipino bands like RadioActive Sago Project. At least I know them even though I don't really listen to their tracks. :P
