Hi, I definitely enjoy travelling by flight. Almost every year ,I will travel back to my hometown by flight, the only transportation mode that can reach my hometown from my husband's town here. I am currently in Malaysia and my hometown is in Indonesia. My first flight experience is when I was 19 years old. I went to Singapore for my further studies. Getting nervous to be on flight and been away from home for the very first time. After a while, I get used to my life there and travelling is not problem for me. I also travel to Australia, Hongkong,Macau for holiday. Hongkong is just about 4 hours flight from Singapore, not that tiring. BUt when I travelled to Australia,it takes about 7 hours to reach the destination and I have to sleep on board, pretty tired. However, it was an awesome experience for me in my life. I really wish I have a chance to travel to other countries like Japan,China,Korea. Those are my favourite countries. When I was on board a plane, I prefer to choose window seat whereby I can see the outside view from the plane's window...very nice view especially at night time. I can see the lights blinking from the top and it is amazing. Nowadays, lot of budgets airline are available in the market. Easily get the cheapest ticket and fly abroad for short holiday trip. Enjoy !!

I am sooooooo sorry busybee. i don't agree with you. I see no beauty when flying. Colourless or light blue sky with no people or animals. i hate looking through the small window. Half of my life was spent in traveling (long trip)by bus or train. i enjoy looking through the window when traveling by bus or train. But not in Germany. In Srilanka

Thank you very much for sharing your view. Well,I appreciate that. As you say every one cannot enjoy - I have seen many-passengers just enjoying a good and sound sleep even for a couple of hours of flight. So it all depends - for I am a photographer and really would like to be alert and capture aerial views while take - off or landing.

Now a days - many HD pictures are available on the net. When compared to my photographs there are far better - because everything is done professionally...hence those can be enjoyed more. I have my own collection which is my record...

I like traveling by flight because it makes the trip shorter compared to land or sea travel. Unlike you, I'm not a big fan of long flights. I don't enjoy staring at the plane window for hours, I just usually take a nap during long flights.

Yes,traveling by flight really saves time - and we can cover multiple works.Provided we plan. And, the journey by enjoying by flight can be experienced only by a set of people and not many. This is my opinion. Thanks for your kind response.

The first time I boarded a flight was when I was 13 years old with a group in an almost 15-hour trip.I think when you are in that age you don't really mind long hours of just sitting there. But now, if I'm offered a choice of a train ride or sea vessel then I would immediately exchange it.

OK - I could understand that. But, I can say that you are fortunate enough for traveling in that small age in a flight. Somehow the choices of traveling varies from person to person. Thanks for your kind response.

Yes I have. But I don't enjoy International Flights where the airplane is just so high up you can't see anything out the window. I enjoy short plane trips especially here in Philippines because the whole trip you will see many islands below you through out the trip. Enjoy!

Yes,what you say is correct - we really cannot enjoy the trip on an international flight and more over I also feel crowd y which carries too many passengers. I especially like to fly on a Fokker friendship aircraft.

I agree, travelling by plane is quite enjoyable. You get to see some fantastic view from above. But it's not fun at all when the plane hits 'air pockets' or whatever they're called. It makes me feel like I'm riding a wild ride in an amusement park, which I totally do NOT enjoy.

That is nice to hear you also enjoyed the flight's journey. Yes,technology has not help to avoid these hits till-now.Because, it is a natural hit which no one can predict.Just like an accident which suddenly happens. The same thing in air. Thanks for your response....

I am very keen on traveling to different countries some of them very far away from my home country. From time to time I need to fly by plane and I do so quite happily. The plane can be very fast and go from one continent to another in a matter of hours. I love it when I get to see some lovely views from the window. Like I saw the opera house and the harbor bridge in Sydney, the pyramids in Egypt and the reef plus the islands in the Maldives. On land I have enjoyed seeing the sunset and in Guatemala I climbed the Mayan ruins to see the sunrise. On a plane at night time the window shutters are shut. When it gets light it seems to be really bright. Wow! When I was 19 years old I flew from London to St Lucia. The seat covers were bright colors and music played when boarding to put all the passengers in a Caribbean mood. The longest flights I have been on are Singapore to London and London to Hong Kong, both 14 hours in duration. The most scenic flight I have been on was Male to Gan in the Maldives. I took photos on that spectacular flight over the islands and reef. The last flight I went to was earlier this month. I flew from Vancouver to London and it took nine and a half hours.

Yes I have traveled by flight may of times. The best flight I ever had was the summer of 1986 when my dad got tickets for my mom, older brother, himself and I to take a flight from Dallas,Texas to London,England. That was my eighteenth Birthday presents. That was a fourteen hour flight. That was the first time I sat in First Class. We started out with a snack. Saw the sunset. Had dinner. Watched a movie. Slept on the plane. Woke to see the sunrise, have breakfast and watch some news programs. There was a lot card playing going on between me, my mom and brother. We sat in the middle where there were four seats. On the way back we left in the morning and arrived home in the evening. Two days after being home I took a flight out again with my mom and dad to Roanoke, Virgina to visit my sister. My parents stayed a week. After they left, I stayed another week with my sister, my four months old Niece and Brother-In-Law. Although I did not see him much as he was busy with his Residency at the Hospital. I celebrated my Birthday with my sister at her home where I stayed for five days alone with her and my Niece. My sixth day there, we drove to Washington DC on a four hour drive where we spent a Friday, Saturday and Sunday there. That was her gift to me. On Monday I took my very first flight alone back to Dallas, Texas from the airport in Washington DC. I was a little nervous at first being on the flight alone. But sitting next to an lady in her 70's made me comfortable when she started to talk to me. She told me she was going to Dallas to see her granddaughter give birth to her first great granddaughter. That made flying alone fun. Before 9-11 I would consider flying alone. But seance 9-11, I'd rather go with someone.
