Daniel Radcliffe, best known for playing boy wizard Harry Potter, is confirmed to take the lead in James Watkins' movie adaptation of Susan Hill's novel "The Woman in Black," backers said on Monday.Radcliffe, who turns 21 this week, will play a young lawyer who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of Britain and sort out a recently deceased client's papers. For a long time, when I see Daniel's face I call Harry Potter in the first thought. What will happen when he don't use his wand?

i think it's about time he takes on new projects because he's been strictly associated now to harry potter and that's going to be bad for his career. i think he'd do fine just as long as they won't make him look like or closer to his phenomenal character, which means they have to remove his eyeglass, change his hairstyle and etc., and he should act his best on his new role so that (even if most people would still identify him as the boy wizard) WHILE watching his new projects, they won't be reminded of harry potter.. to be honest, when he started growing, just right after the sorcerer's stone, i also started thinking he's no longer harry. because his growth was so sudden, it wasn't similar as in the books. although he's only twenty, to me he looks like a grown up man already.

Oh dear, typecast already at age 21. Maybe they'll let him bring his wand as a sort of security blanket or something.

This seems to be a good idea for anyone following the works of Daniel Radcliffe. We have always seen him as the character of Harry Potter. In fact, I sometimes call him Harry. It may be a little new to see him portraying a character other than Ms. Rowling's famous character. But this will be good for him as an actor. He will be able to do more roles which will test his versatility as an actor.

I have seen Daniel Radcliffe in all the Harry potter films. It will be nice to see Daniel in a change of character. Sometimes actors get stuck in a rut when they play one character over and over agsin. It's great to see him do something different. i think he is quite talented and will be great in the part.

Well first of all I have to say that I am SO pleased that they are making a film of Woman in black and I do hope that they do justice to that wonderful book!! Radcliffe has actually been working a lot on the stage - including his wonderful role in Equus

Im not sure how I;ll feel with his new role but Im sure I;ll still see that charming Harry Potter whenever I see him. He's a great actor and Im happym for him to get another part and not be stuck forever as onyl Harry Potter. Im also very interested in seeing him in a different role and seeing how he plays out and seeing what he's able to sdo with a different character that he hasnt had years to perfect. It's all about the end result.
