There are tons of theories about what causes us to dream, what they mean, where they come from. Having studied some psychology and seen some of the theories, my opinion is that they have no significant meaning, that it's just the brains way of getting rid of junk while you sleep. I have read that we need to dream. There have been tests that show that when not allowed to dream, people become moody and anxious during waking hours, and restful sleep is lost.

I am far from being an expert on dreams...these are just my own beliefs based on some psychological theories. The part about the sleep and dream studies has been proven. We must dream to get a restful sleep. By junk, it refers to the millions of random thoughts that pass through your brain each day, most of which we aren't even aware of. It's believed that the brain uses our sleep time to get rid of all this useless information and prepare for the next input. How true is this? I don't know. It makes sense to me, so I will go with that theory. You may find some other theory that you like better or believe more.

I certanly think that dreams have a meaning, that sometimes we don`t understand at the moment, only when it happends that thing, we have a deja-vu feeling. It happends to me all the time, if i dream a friend of mine, that i haven`t seen for long time, the second day, i meet him/her, or he/she calls me, to say hi. When i was in primary school i dreamt that i took a bad mark at maths, and the second day, it happend.

I've always remembered my dreams pretty well, and pretty much every night. If you're one of the people who's ever had a full sleep cycle (which is pretty much everyone who sleeps ever) then you've had a dream. You just might not remember it. I've had off the wall crazy dreams, amazing dreams, foreboding dreams, and dreams that seemed to predict what was going to happen to me in my waking life. But I don't believe that dreams have symbolic meaning or tell the future. No one really knows why we dream, but if you're interested in dream science then go ahead and skip over to your local library and read up about it. I've always thought dreams were really interesting, and even though I don't believe they're symbolic or tell the future, I think they are really important to humanity.

I believe that dreams are the way for the subconscious to get its message through. Im not sure a dream is a true prediction. I do believe it is an indicator and is trying to tell us something. It is up to us to dicover what the dream represents to give it meaning.

Well, most people say that what you do during the day sometimes determines what will happen in your dream. So, I do not see why it isn't possible for something you do in your dream to affect what you do during the day.

I do not believe in dreams would predict/indicate or lead us to something. But if someone can interpret this dreams I had most of the time when I am not expecting them, then I should tell everyone about it. Almost every once in a year (starting from the age of 18 until now, 29), with random months and day of the dream appears, it's weird for me to have a dream where I was in unfamiliar woods, and being chased by lots of snakes from various species. Local interpreter said, the dreams related to someday, I might be chased by many type of girls. But I don't believe them. Anyway, various culture in this world should have different interpretation of this dream I encounter every year, I should have your cultures interpretation as well.

Your interpretation to the best of my knowledge: Being chased is a popular dream. Being chased usually means you are avoiding something. Snakes are a symbol of temptation of having something forbidden. The woods usually, but not always, represents innocence. So if you can piece all of these interpretations together, maybe you can figure out why you are avoiding them. Maybe it has to do with something that happens around the same time each year you have this dream. Good Luck

Yes, dreams do predict about something that is going to happen. Prophets used to see these dreams, and it would happen the same. Now it depends on the person you are asking the explaination from. Make sure that person, the one who is going to explain it to you, is a pious man, a man who is close to God.

Oh, it`s kind of difficult to read your writting, but I will try to contribute with my answer. I don`t believe in dreams as something that can predict or future or any kind of sign to follow. They`re just images that are stored in our brain organizing themselves while our bodies are in off mode. However, dreams are always interesting, so I`m glad that we can dream

Hi, I don't know why... but almost every night I get a dream.. Nevertheless, I often can't remember it in the morning. So, I never think if my dream will predict something in my life. Best wishes,

Hi urvigirl! Well, I don't dream that often unless I oversleep while taking an afternoon nap between 4-6 pm when I'm just too tired. Those afternoon dreams are usually weird and scary but I don't think they mean anything. But your dreams seem to be trying to tell you something.
