It seems that most cats are afraid of having the shower. They are not like dogs. My cats are the same. They don't like water at all. Today I am amused by a photo and it really shows that cats don't like having the shower

I've never met a cat that liked a bath. We did buy some great herbal flea shampoo and used it on the cats. It was hard to give them a bath, but the stuff really worked, smelled good and make their fur so soft! Marsha

My 4 yr old cat hates water. But my kitten absolutely loves it. If you leave the water on she will play in it and splash it everywhere. We I water the garden she always comes over to play in the water. It's odd that some cats like water and some don't. Until I got my kitten I thought all cats hated water. I guess not.

That's strange because my cat loves to shower. (at least, sitting next to the sprinklers) Everyday, he gets sopping wet and smells weird.

His cat is already callous about shower. If you can't change your life, just enjoy it.That likely also fit to cats.

Cats certainly do NOT like water my friend, in my old place our youngest cat always came into the bathroom with me and a few times would jump up onto the side of the bath, she would be fascinated by the water but get a single drop on her coat and she'd be off, running as fast as her little feet could carry her! But she never came in when I had a shower, only when I was in the bath, and we had a shower curtain so she wouldn't have been splashed. Never worked out why dogs do and cats don't! One of lifes little enigmas.

Most cats don't really like baths. In fact, you shouldn't bath your cat too often as it well dry out their skin. However, my cat Freddie likes to sit on the side of the bathtub while I shower, he sits between the shower curtains so he doesn't get wet.

hi youless poor kitty he looks like he is about ready to pass out. I have yet to see a cat that really likes to have a bath. most just plainly hate it. He really looks the worse for wear. surely he could have been cared for without scaring him silly.

Perhaps your cats are just afraid of drowning.I suggest yo can give them some life buoys when you help them with having bath. Well,I even don't know dogs like having a shower and cats don't.I haven't pets.

Oh, what an interesting superstition because I haven't heard it before. Perhaps it tells us never to bully a cat

My cat Smyles jumps in the shower with me every chance he gets. I know most cats do not like water, but for some reason he does. He sits on the ledge and jumps in. He does not like being dried off, but he does like getting wet. I guess someone forgot to tell Smyles that cats do not like to take baths and showers.

It's pretty true. most cats hate shower. my kittens love to play with water. Everytime we're doing the laundry, they will play in the bathroom, chasing the foams of the detergent and they will get wet. However, when it comes to their weekly bath, only one out of four enjoying the shower while the others will cry out loud and they voice can be heard by the whole neighbourhood! i;m sure our neighbour will think that we abused our pets .

Hiya youless. Nope, none of the cats I had liked water. Well, other than drinking it, that is! LOL Oh wait, there was one cat that I had that didn't mind it too much. It wasn't bath related though. My mom's porch got flooded one year and instead of the cat going around to come into the house he jumped right in and swam! Unfortunately I missed all the excitement, but my mom and sister saw the whole thing and told me all about it! LOL Happy mylotting!

My oldest cat used to like along the edge of the bath tub when I was taking a shower. Now none of the cats go in unless it's empty. But to actually wash them off, no way... they don't like it and I only do it if I have to... after all they don't smell like the dog does.

Hi, I am not a pet lover and I don't like a cat. It does not mean I hate to see cats,it is just I scared of cats. Their soft furs make me goosebumps. I am lucky that my house does not keep any pets. I got to know from my husband that cats scared of water. So they definitely don't need shower with water. Cats will clean their own body with their hand and leg. Are they clean enough? I am not sure. But what I remembered well : after touch cats, remember to wash your hands because its furs may lead to asthma.
