I cooked the first of the year's fresh table corn on the cob.YUM! I never make anything from this corn, it doesn't last that long, it's always consumed as soon as the word gets outh that it's cooked. But for us a big something to look forward to each Summer.

Fresh corn is a family favorite around here as well. I haven't had the opportunity to get out and buy any yet this year, but I hope to be able to make it to the farmer's market next weekend so that I can get some that I will be able to make and to enjoy with my family. My children will easily eat two to three ears of corn in a single sitting if I will allow them to. Besides that, there are a lot of great farms in our area to support.

My corn isn't ready yet but I'm looking forward to it! You can freeze it, you know. Just blanch it on the cob, cool it off and either freeze it as is or cut off the kernels and freeze. That's what I intend to do--then I can have creamed corn and corn with bell peppers and onions during the winter!

Corn on the cob is the one and only "vegetable" that the entire family can agree on. With two of the children in braces, we have to cut it off for them though.

I also love corn on the cob right from the garden. Also, I love to pick a few green tomatoes and fried them to a golden crisp. YUMMY! I have always loved the goodies from the garden. I can understand why it goes fast it's because it is simply wonderfully delicious. Take care Snow

Yellow squash is our thing. Although I love fresh corn, I always have a dinner for my daughter, my son and his wife when the yellow squash are producing the best. I cook a full meal, but we eat mostly squash! I, too, love this part of summer. If it wasn't for the vegetable garden, I'd hate summer!
