I do not have a facebook account. Tell me what the big deal is with it and why I should join. I am curious to know. Thanks

I wouldn't tell someone to join Facebook if it's not their thing. I have an account just to have one. I found some high school friends through Facebook so I get to find out what is going on in their lives. I don't like the games on Facebook. It's just a nice thing to have if you have long distance friends to communicate with them via photos or discussions. I heard there are alot of problems with Facebook but I haven't encountered any.

Thanks for the review. My wife and all my friends are always talking about it and about things that are going on. I will say, "I am out of the loop and have no idea what you are talking about. Remember I don't have facebook." They respond with, "You really need one"

I used to have a MySpace account for my husband but he never used it. I found myself more on it communicating with family or friends. They would always ask me why don't I have my own. I just felt safer knowing it was in my husband's name but then I switched it over to my name a year ago. He never went on it or even knew the password. I found more friends on Facebook so I did that one. I guess it's a woman's thing to just communicate with frieds more. My husband sometimes will listen to me talk about what was written on someone's wall. The wall is a little comment about what is on your mind today. He did the same thing to me, look as if I was crazy...lol

Yeah, my wife uses it to keep up with current friends and with old friends. She has found people that she grew up with or went to school with and they talked about how they are doing now. To me, I guess that would be cool. But in the same breath, if I haven't talked to them until now I wasn't really missing anything. I talk to my current friends through email, texts, phone or in person. I don't have to have a wall to talk with them or to people I have not seen in forever. My wife says she likes it because you can be nosy and see what other people are doing:)

Facebook is basically the same as myspace only more interactive and it's similar to twitter too. I have a facebook account and forgot all about myspace. I think it's a big fad at the moment and people get constant updates on their friends and what theit doing and you can update your "status" on your phone as well. And you can "follow"/"like" your favorite stores, and events on facebook. their's a lot to do on facebook and people even organize contests on there. I think facebook is cool. But be cautious on what you post and be sure to go over your privacy settings.

I heard the privacy thing can be a bad thing since anyone can see what is one facebook. My wife has her settings very private.

I have a facebook account, I find it's a great way to catch up with friends that live a long way from you & also a great way of catching up with old school friends. The games they have on there are addictve...the only downer is, unless you have a paid surf bar of some sort, you don't get paid for being on facebook.

Uh, oh. Your facebook wall probably has all sorts of nasty messages now from all your friends thinking you don't like them anymore and are ignoring them:)

My wife was very addicted to the games on there and I used to tease her all the time about it.

Hey junior, I can't tell you much because I also don't have a FB account. But, I sure get alot of invitations to join! I have alot of friends that love the site, in fact most of my friends that used to be here have all gone over there so it must be really good! But, I'm just not interested. I spend enough time online as it is between reading news articles and being here I don't want to deal with another site.
