Is there any blood? Do you have any cramps or contractions? It is probably quite ok, but it is always best to contact your doctor when you have questions like these. The good thing is that you are so far in the pregnancy, the baby is almost certain to be perfectly healthy, even if it is born now. The big break is at 28 weeks, after that, the survuval rate is almost 100%. By the way; no hot tubs or public swimming pooles after the mucus plug is gone. You are a little bit less protected against bacteria "down there".

some light cramping but nothing to keep you awake at night. I am certain the baby has "dropped" though...no show, all clear...I have an appt on the 28th, I am thinking of just waiting till then to let them know.. Thanks so much!!

It's the type of cramps that quit when you change position or go and have a lie down? Hope you'' have another wonderful 10 weeks, and enjoy the growing baby!

My two are very close in age, and I seem to remeber the plug went much earlier with the last one. But not before 35-36 weeks. And I hope you listen to the cramps and note if they are getting too regular. They might do damage even when they don't hurt a lot. You are certain about the dates?

It is possible to lose your mucous plug and not go into labor. Some women will lose their plug 6 weeks or more before labor and it will basically replace itself. Keep an eye on things, though. Many times you will go into labor up to a week after losing your mucous plug. Let your doctor know about the loss, and be sure to take your medications when needed. Get plenty of rest and keep that baby in there as long as you can. Your mucous plug can regenerate though, so you may be fine. Just make sure to tell your doctor.

Yea, you make sense....My baby is low, he has "dropped" for sure... I am going to the doctor today so we'll see what she says, and I'll come back with a report..lol... Knowing the plug regenerates, has definitely made me feel better about that situation. =) Thanks for your help.

I had three births. My first two are 16 months apart. I don't ever remember anything about the mucous plug with my first, a daughter. I carried her to term only having to be put into labor one week early due to the water around her deteriorating. I looked at nine months like I was only tree months. With my son, I remember being 34 weeks losing my mucous plug and having cramping so bad in my lower back. I called the doctor and he had me go to the hospital to get hooked up to the machine that monitors your labor pains. I had what was called, Braxton Hicks Contractions. I had it happen to be twice in my second pregnancy, and my son was born four weeks premature. With my third child I again lost my mucous plug. I had a little pain but not much. I remember the doctor telling me not to worry. I lost it at 33 weeks. The doctor told me that unless the water breaks or you have stronger labor pains, you will be fine and can carry to full term as the mucous plug will regenerate. I had to be put on bed rest the rest of my pregnancy. Not every has to, but due to my legs swelling (even though I was only 99 LBS before pregnancy) I had to be in bed. There is really nothing to worry about as long as you are following up with the doctor about ANYTHING you may feel wrong or that you are unsure of. I too dropped more with my third child. Some with my second and not really any with my daughter. Doctor said that you tend to drop more with boys then with girls. My first a girl was 5'4 and I tore with her. Was told that due to my small hips if I had a another baby any bigger than 5'4, I'd have to have a C-Section. My second a son was 5'3. Remembering the doctor telling me about the C-Section if over 5'3; (my first two where born in TX) I was in Oklahoma with my third a boy being 7'4 and no C-Section. Had an Epidural with the first two and my third was natural due to my blood was thin and my blood pressure being to low that an Epidural would make me very sick. Good luck with your pregnancy. :)
