There have been many different views about quality time versus quantity time....I too am all for quality time spent on any aspect of one's life, be it being with your close family or at home or on the net. When one has plenty of time on hand we tend to waste or while away our time without doing anything worthwhile. On the other hand I have noticed that when we are busy and have to manage our time efficiently we are able to achieve much more...We may be spending a lot of time with our family, not actually doing nothing much except may be irritate each other, instead making the most of the little time available is far more productive I feel.. I visited Bangalore for 2 days and I had to attend to so many different jobs which I managed to do by planning and I think it was quality time that I got to spend with my mother and siblings as well , since we had to make the most of it.... It is the same when I get just an hour to spend on the net and I try to get the maximum amount of work done in that period of time... friends, What are your views on this subject? please share ...

Hi Kiran! I think whatever gives you satisfaction could be called 'quality time'. As you spent your time with your siblings etc. and you apparently had a tight schedule, you utilized each minute of the available time. I also prefer to spend my time in some creative activities instead doing unproductive things like watching TV, so much and so sometimes I indulge in multi-tasking to utilize the time in the best possible manner.

It is nice to know Kiran that you also believe in multi-tasking and you dispose of more than one task at a time. BTW, do you enjoy TV while browsing? I would love to browse only.

I watch news and a couple of serials in Kannada while browsing.Since they don't need any great concentration it is easy to do it...

hi kiran madam, spending with family members once in week atleast is very important and meaning ful to the life,if there any misunderstanding amoung the membes could be solved, the other family members also will happy, that you are looking each and everybody of the family members equally, but the spending time will be qualitative and quantitative also, have a nice day

Hi yugasini, yes it depends on the individual as to how best he/she puts the time available into best use.I have seen people spending hours together looking totally bored.I feel instead of that they could do something separately that gives them more happiness and refresh their minds as well...have a nice evening yugasini

There is fun in chit chat too yugasini, but with the right people and at the right time and about the right topic. What is not healthy is idle and malicious gossip that can harm others...

Hi kiran,I think to do so many jobs to utilise time can't always be called quality time. To spend time with close relatives or traveling at a sea shore or moutains or forests is also can be called quality time. Because this time gives us relief from over work and we become fresh to do our professional jobs.

Yes bhanu, I agree with you, only what I am trying to say is that the whole experience should make us feel that it was time well utilised and spent, even if you just lazed around on the beach ..What I am trying to say is that quality of the time spent is far more important than the quantity of time spent..all the best bhanu and have a great evening
