I suddenly felt an urge to eat. As I gobble down, I remember years before in my hometown, we have an exotic chews on locusts. It's deep fried added with spices for a hotter experience. We have to removed the head and the feet then just chew it. And it's not just a few locusts, sometimes we a kilo of them deep fried. Usually it's summer time that we were having these exotic chews. For others out there, do you have some exotic foods encounter? I wanted to know.

Tamilok - Palawan's exotic food
Exotic food? I am not fond of exotic food. I don't have enough guts to try them. Like one time we went to Palawan, Tamilok, a favorite exotic delicacy in Palawan province was served to us. I almost vomited as I saw a bowl of worms but they were not worms but Tamilok which is a mangrove worm that looks like worm but not really a worm but a mangrove-boring mollusk. Oh well, I did not try it. But my friends did and they loved it. Oh yakkk!

I used to eat fried locusts, when I was small. But I guess I overgrown it already. I don't like to eat it anymore. For other countries, they consider Philippine street foods as exotic, but for us it's just normal. I eat balut, a boiled duck's embryo. I tried eating grilled chicken feet & intestines. My last exotic food encounter was with the tamilok, a mangrove worm which i had on my last trip to Palawan. Actually, this is a mollusk that looks like a worm and tastes like an oyster. The texture is jelly-like. I only tasted a piece, for experience sake. But, i love the crocodile meat. It was marinated in soy sauce and it tastes like chicken. Quite pricey though for a plate.
