My daughter is 3 & until today, had never been to the movies. My hubby had the day off work today as it was raining today & with him being a construction worker, it's hard to work in the rain...so we decided to treat ourselves to the movies after finding out our local movie theatre is cheap ($AU7.50 per person). We went & saw Grown Ups with Adam Sandler...We ALL enjoyed it...I couldn't believe how well behaved my daughter was! She did get restless towards the end of the movie but over all, she was really well behaved How old was your child on their first outing to the movies?

That's so sweet I could not imagine how her face filled with joy while you're enjoying watching the movies. How I wish the movies Spiderman can be watch on a big theater so that my son would be very happy to watch it.

My son was also 3 when we first ventured into the movie houses. Like your daughter, he was also well behaved during the length of the movie, yet got restless towards the end. I couldn't remember what movie it was, but I'm sure it was one of those animated 3D ones that his big brother likes to watch. He's already 4 now, and a little better at watching. He could now sit through the entire movie without taking his 3D glasses off.

I want to take my daughter to see Toy Story 3 next week...hopefully with that one being animated, she won't get so restless towards the end but we will see.

I don't have a kid yet, but I love to hear stories like this. I'm quite emotional for a full-bloodied man. In the age were many kids have only one parent, yours is a treasure. Your kid is blessed to be going to the movies with both of her parents. Good day.

Why thank you :) I plan on taking my daughter to see Toy Story 3 next week...it will only be the 2 of us as her father works plus he doesn't want to see Toy Story lol.

Our first trip to the movie house was when my daughters were aged 2 and 3. We went to watch Lion King. My elder child was so engrossed with the Disney animation. I had discussed with her the teaser about the travails of a lion cub called Simba. So she was so excited. But my younger one was more inclined to look at the sign EXIT all throughout the movie. The darkness of the movie house sort of enveloped my baby.

I can see why the exit sign got your daughter...it is bright when the cinema is dark.

That is so good of your daughter to behave well during the entire movie. My oldest is almost 4, but I can't imagine her sitting quitely for so long. I think I'll have to wait for at least another year.
