My daughter and her family are visiting from New York. They will be here for a week. I am just waiting for everyone to get ready and we are heading out to the Mall of America then later for a dinner at my brothers house also in Minneapolis. Tomorrow we have errands to do and company coming for supper. My other granddaughter is coming to stay overnight so she can have time with her cousin. Then Thursday we are going out to our camper for a day of swimming in the pool and a picnic. Friday we are going to Des Moins Ia. to drop my SIL off to catch a plane. Sat. it's back to the camper so my daugher and son can spend time together. Sunday is a dinner back here at my home. Monday we'll be heading to Rochester Minnesota so she can see a friend of hers then Tuesday it's back to work for me and they head back to New York. I'm already tired! LOL When you have company do you carry a heavy schedule of planned activities? I would rather just chill out here but they only come every other year. I go there on the opposite years.

Not really because we can't have company..I think in a subtle way this is why my husband doesn't want to fix up our house, it keeps company away.. Have fun, I hope you enjoy your family while they are here..:)

Hiya carmel, That is a shame carmel I sort of know how you feel I was never allowed to have Friends around my House when I was at Home over there. I always had to go and play with others and I always wanted to take them back to my House too. So it´s a bit of game that. I make it my business to make Friends out of here where I live too well casual friend albeit that. If my English sounds funny sometimes it´s because most of the time I am speaking in Spanish so I tend to reverse the phrases if I am not careful lol. You work on that Husband of yours subtly too you can do it bit by bit.

Hi Kash, where do I begin? You can't wash your hands in the bathroom unless you wash them in the bathtub and if you come out to the kitchen to wash, then I have to turn the water on since the handle is broken..And these are the minor problems..Last time I had someone over I was embarrassed because she couldn't bend over the tub and I didn't realize it until she came out and asked if I can turn the water on for her in the kitchen.. Hi lovinangel...work on him subtly??I rather get a job and pay someone else to fix it, it will get done quicker that way..

I can't wait to hear about it all when you get done. Your time will go really, really fast and I hope you take some fun pictures. You'll be tired and glad to be home but how much fun is this!!!!

That does sound busy, but also sounds like a lot of fun for everyone! We will be having company late in August.. my good friend who lives in Nova Scotia Canada will be coming to see us. Our State Fair will be going on at that time.. and it's huge. She's been down for the fair the last 2 years in a row.. and even though she moved to NS from Ottawa, she's still planning on continuing to come down for it. I don't know how long she's staying for.. she's still in the process of looking up airline prices and such... but we will keep her fairly busy. Obviously one day will be for the fair.. maybe 2 days. If we can afford to we'll do 1 day at the fair without kids, then another day with kids.. but that depends on money. Aside from the fair I don't know what else we'll do.. she's seen most of our big attractions because she has been down to visit a few times before, so it's not too important to go to certain places, but like I said, we'll still keep her busy. Though after dinner we usually just sit back and relax with some drinks and good conversation!

Hiya Jill, Wow what a schedule you have got going there. I bet you are glad when you are able to sit down of a night and rest a while. I would rather just chill out too seeing all that coming at me. But I would love it to be me also as I have not had a Family get together in ages. Actually it would be my best medicine because I love doing things like that but like you I do get worn out because I do too much like I did yesterday and today I´m feeling the backlash but still I got everything done. Have a great time Jill and enjoy your Family while they are with you. Back to work on Tuesday that is a big rush for you.

Hiya Jill, But then you will miss them in the Fall if you don´t get to see them for a long time. So you enjoy yourself while you can as they in Spain "nos queda dos telediarios" in other words life is so short so enjoy it while you can. Well the other expression in Spanish is much shorter (grin).

Your discussion wore me out..lol Hope you have a great time with your daughter. Also enjoy all your scheduled fun activities with the rest of your family. Sounds like an exciting time. We don't have company that stays for any length of time. Our youngest daughter comes in town and stays with her sister. They are only a couple of years apart so it's more fun for both of them to stay together. Don't blame our daughter for not wanting to stay with mom and dad. Plus our middle daughter has a huge house so there is more room for all the kids to run around and tear up her house.

Wow! That's a lot of action. You're doing more this week than I've done in the past year. I hope you have fun, but also get enough rest to enjoy this time with them.

Hi Jill, Have a lovely time with your family certainly seems you have your time well and truly filled before going back to work for a rest lol. I find that as well as running around whilst visitors are with me I also run around preparing the week before and then sorting out and washing and cleaning after too. Upon arrival though I always make the first cup of tea or coffee and show them where every thing is and say to make their own when they want and will just sort the main meals to ease things a bit. Huggles. Ellie :D

Sometimes you need a vacation to recover from the vacation. Really, if you can, it's best to schedule your time so that you have some down time. Otherwise you end up tired, with sore feet and not feeling like you want to do anything.

I think I got tired just thinking about all you've got planned. We never get visitors that are from another State so usually we don't leave the house when they're down unless for dinner, and even then they're usually down for just a few hours anyway so no dinner, or the dinner is here. Rest up once they leave, are you this busy when you visit them?
