I do not regularly experience dysmenorrhea when I have my period but this morning, I experienced the worst case I've ever had in my entire life. There was this severe pain, a nauseating feeling, numbness and tingling feeling in my arms and legs, it was awful!! For one, my period is already delayed by almost a week so I expected the pain to come. But then it was really not the usual kind of pain. I remembered then that I was eating green mangoes since three days before because a neighbor gave them to us. Is it true that eating the green mangoes caused it? I thought it was just a silly old superstition but I guess it's true. So I learned my lesson: not to eat green mangoes anymore especially when I know my period is coming. Another thing, I've been wondering why my period is always getting delayed for about 3 months now. And when my period is delayed, I experience these cramps again. It's so hard to be a girl. :(

Atleast its not a regular phase for you... I always have this kind of pain every month. I take mefenamic acid (500mg) everytime I have dysmenorrhea. This is when the pain becomes untolerable, otherwise, I just try to ignore it:) I don't if the medicine I mentioned will work for you. Better check with your OB:)

Yeah, I guess it's a good thing that it's not a regular phase for me. But then, it just makes me more sensitive to the pain since I'm not used to it. Thanks for the advice though. My mom recommended me to take mefenaminc acid also but then that day there was no stock of that medicine in the house so I just slept through it. When I woke up, I was thirsty and drank a coke. I don't know what was with the coke but after a few minutes that I drank it, the pain was gone. Weird.

If you ran out of medicine or there's no way you can buy it, I suggest, you use hot compress. Put it on your stomach and pain will subside. This is also works for me:D

You're right. Sometimes it is hard to be a girl. I also experience pain and nausea when my period is comming. I use to take Ketoprofen to ease the pain, as my pharmacist adviced me. If this time you felt worse than all the other times, maybe you should go see the doctor. If I were you, I wouldn't wait to see if green mangoes are guilty. Take care of yourself, my friend!

Nevertheless, I won't eat green mangoes again if I feel that it's almost time for my period. By the way, the pain disappeared a few minutes after I drank some coke. It was really weird. Anyway, thanks for your advice!
