Greatest Finds at Ukay-Ukay

I am very delighted to have my bought beautiful and very wearable clothes which I found in the second-hand store (we call it Ukay-ukay in the Philippines). Would you believe that I bought 10 blouses and 5 children's clothes at P20 each. Some of these are branded clothes. I love to go to the second hand or thrift shops on weekdays , morning usually, because they sell the clothes at a very cheap price since there are less buyers. Today, I got my greatest finds. Do you also go to ukay-ukay stores?

I own 2 DKNY pieces. One was a white silk tube strapless top that I bought at a friend's moving out sale. The other was a green embroidered bolero that I got for 100 Php in Baguio just this summer. I love going through ukay! Not a lot of these stores have great stuff. You can really tell if their pieces are merely neglected second hand clothes that would have been donated anyway. They're pretty elusive, these stores, and once you find one, you're bound to find a piece that's worth your hundred peso bill. (twenty if you're super lucky!)

I like it in the sense that you could find lots of cheaper branded things. I don't like in the sense of my being no patience of looking, selecting, digging some good stuffs. It would be so boring and tiring for me... My wife loves ukay-ukay and she has a good eyesight of those good stuff at the midst of so many junks... Nice post... Mobhomeir here...

There are plenty of ukay-ukay stalls you can find now here in the Metro. But if you're looking for great deals, i heard that Ukay-Ukay in Bambang is where you find the best. Still some of the stores are selling the items like you're buying a new one at the mall, they are a bit pricy for a thrift store.

hi dorisday I am jealous as here in the U S one seldom finds top brands of things at second hand or thrift shops at least not in California where I am. Sounds like you really made a great find. I have found some good furniture in thrift shops here but not clothes which is really disappointing. They have instead worn cheap stuff that looks really shoddy and I just did not even try anything on. lol.

Hi doris! i usually go to ukay-ukay stores here in baguio and I can say, too that I have found there great and fashionable stuffs to wear. I like the thrill of going there not only because their prices are low but are also one of a kind - unlike buying clothings in department stores: they are but the same. Cheers!

I love going to ukay-ukay stalls. I had a "suki" in CDO sells Korean ukay-ukay. They have this cutesy clothes and with just the right size for a petite (short.lol) size like me. What a steal for prices ranging from 5php to 30php, believe it or not. Every saturday's New Arrivals day. And so many cutomers line up from as early as 6am just for the clothes. :)
