I was shocked to see my sandals missing by the temple premises today morning.I was searching for them all over the place coz i was getting late for my office. One man approached to me and asked if i have lost any money --- i said my sandals were missing he asked if they were a new pair .... said yup he left the place confirming that they were stolen .It was a bit weird to stand barefoot until my friend arrived to pick me.Never lost my stuff in public places --- this was my first experience. As of the good news i bought Puma sandals hehe ---- Nike has been replaced by Puma now Ever lost your belongings in public places ? were you shocked to see them missing ?

I had same experience,we are about to leave from church when i found out that my shoes is missing (one only and not the pairs) I thought maybe some naughty kid hid it,so we keep looking around but there is no any sign of my shoes. Good thing is,my house is just steps away from our church Got to wait for my daughter to give me new pair of slippers Have a wonderful weekend ahead

I lost my Bag full of Painting paraphernalia. It was an out of town competition wherein I will be competing for Inter-school mural painting contest. I have this Black Jansport classic backpack where I put all my things like acrylics and brushes, palete and pencils that I will use for the contest. 2 hours before the contest start I decide to eat burger and fries in the cafeteria that is full of people, I guess they were the audience. I left my bag and took some water and wash my hands after. When I came back my bag is gone. I've searched everywhere, i asked their waiters if they saw black back pack cause they might thought that someone left. But as per them they didn't saw any bag. The contest is about to start and I never had it back, but glad my trainer bought his own art things. With all those bad lucks I still won the 2nd Place. I had carry on luggage on an overnight flight to the East Coast last month and it got stuck on something under the seat in front of me so when we disembarked it tore open. When my friend came to pick me up at the airport, I stuffed that bag in the trunk and then the car was valet parked in one of those places where they charge $45 to take it out--we were staying a week and gave up the car for that time. I hadn't wanted to give the bell guy a torn bag so I just left it in the trunk and realized later that my favorite shoes were in there. I wasn't barefoot like you, but I felt underdressed at the theatre in my low heels. I prefer stillettos when I am wearing a nice dress.

You are right drannhh. A good shoes must complement your dress, only then you feel complete. There is a saying that your shoes indicate what kind of personality you are & what characteristics you possess. If your shoes are not so good and they do not suit your attire, then people will get a wrong impression about you. People who do not pay attention to what they are wearing indicates their careless nature.

it would be really odd if you do not wear some good shoes in accordance with your dress.it would be embrassing in huge gathering...depends on the way we carry on though

Hmm I can not think of anything of mine that has been stolen, but it's sad someone stole or you lost your sandals. Maybe someone picked up the wrong sandals by accident?

you two got valid points there --- it was raining heavily so i couldnt sort out if the rest of the sandals in there were new or older ones

Alice are we saying it was an "accidentally on purpose" grab, that the sandals they wore were dingy and dirty, falling apart that they stole poor Sunny's here?

I have lost my new platforms in pooja mandap. Actually they got replaced with someone else's shoes. In the crowd, some lady or girl might have by mistake worn my shoes and left her's in my place. May be we both had left our shoes side by side and thats when this mishap took place. Since then I have been asking my parents to keep a watch on my shoes while I go away praying and leave them Unattended, as I cannot compromise by wearing low cost shoes just because of some crazy people who don't bother to look down and check what they are wearing I really miss my shoes, they were pretty and I could wear them only twice. This incident happened around 3 years back, but the memories are still fresh in my mind, this indicates how much dear those shoes were to me

Yes if you leave them by some shop and ask them to look over the shoes then there are very less cahnces any one will dare to steal under the shopkeeper's nose. The thieves need to be very adept in order to steal them from a shop

@Alice: Lol, ya anything is possible if one is determined to steal the shoes and on top of that if the person aiming at the shoes is expertise in this field Sorry sunny, can't save your shoes, you have got an expert shoe thief on your pursuit

that is one possibility --- they could have mistaken your shoes of their old tattered ones lol.Anyways we shouldnt feel sad over them---we can always buy them until and unless it is a unique pair gifted by some one dearer in your life.i gotta leave my new pair near the coconut shop ---its the best place for my puma .

Hiya sunny, If you have to leave your shoes outside is there not someone who can look after them or could´nt you leave them in a nearby Shop get to know the owner or assistant and see if they will let you leave your Sandals there.? I realize that you can´t take them inside the Temple so maybe they could set up something like that a Person who will take care of your shoes for a minimum fee and imagine if the person looked after all of the Sandals that would be a sort of Job for him or her. Sorry to hear about that though it´s not nice to have something stolen. My Son had his Shoes stolen off him while he was with his friends but they were wearing them at the time. I did´nt know and I did´nt have a Car then to go and pick him up so a neighbour picked my Son and his Friends up for me. I was really grateful too. I have had a Shopping Bag stolen but nothing was in it so it did not mean anything to me really.

Hiya Alice, This baffles me as well sometimes. They have stopped People asking for money almost everywhere but at the same time they don´t help them either. Spain is not a rich Country either the wrong people have all the money. Spain gives a false impression you would be amazed at what goes on here Alice if you lived next Door I could tell you a few things (grin). But getting back to the other there are People in real need here now they are stopping the emergency unemployment and as for the so called Social Security well no comments absolutely no comments. You are right about Lidl too and the other one called maxi Dia in fact everywhere else has stopped this practice of being able to leave things there. In a way I could take it as being for Security because anyone could leave anything in those little cupboards know what I mean so in a way it´s for the best. Nice talkin to ya gal where do you get to?

Hiya Alice, Things are that bad then over there in that sense? We have never had a stable Social Security System so we have had to live from day to day most times. They are stopping the few benefits they give out soon so they say. I would like to see what happens if they do. But People here have lived before and they will do it again as there has never been anyone or anything to fall back on here. The so called Social Security Money here is very poor to say the least and you don´t get help with Rent, or Light or anything else.

Like my bathing suit top? Actually, my problem seems to be losing earrings. I have so many single earrings, because I've lost just one. Rubber earring backs - those are life saving for some types of earrings. Doesn't work for hoops though...

Which temple is this? Most of the temples have shops - you pay and your footwear gets taken care of by the vendor selling coconuts, and stuff like that. I presume it is Sai baba temple. :) Nevertheless, I would like to share a nice thing one of my former colleagues who was much senior to me said. He said never grieve what you've lost. You may be having enough now. So you are likely to be careless. God is just helping you save it for future. It will return to you when you need it the most. So think of it in god's safe custody, and move on. :)

I've lost a bunch of items before and that was due to my foolishness and irresponsibility I find it hard to believe that you were actually hmm praying and inside a temple haha Anyway if things are not meant to be ours its not meant to be You can carry your bag inside the temple right? So next time you can just put your sandals in a plastic or paper wrapper and put it inside your bag in that way you don't leave or lose anything

Hey sorry about your sandals, but the principal of someone taking your sandals [em]angry[/em}\] Wow, how can anyone walk around wearing stolen sandals and actually feel good about how they obtained them. That shows though we Hispanic Catholics have a phrase we use often; If the nails were not nailed to the cross a thief would take them too. It sounds very vulgar, but after hearing an event directly at my church I am beside myself. During the Christmas holiday, someone stole Baby Jesus from he Manger, , imagine that. How could someone be enjoying their Christmas knowing that Baby Jesus was sitting in their decorative event away from the Church. So as women we try really hard, although we are careless sometimes, but we leave our purses un-attended. But believe you me, as soon as we realize we are no longer protecting it we begin to get heart palpitation, even while knowing there isn't much inside of it. Shows that as humans we must always live in some sort of fear, and if we carelessly leave something unattended well we have to consider it gone. It is unfortunate but it is the world has evolved.

hi sunnycool yes it happened to me when I waS sent to The county hospital from the nurses registry to work in the nursery. I had to take off myuniform to wear a special gown and mask. So of course I just hung my uniform on a hanger in the nurses lounge expecting it to be safe, as I had never had any problems before anyplace.Imagine my shock when morning came and I was on shift. where was my uniform? I was in my slip and no uniform so they could not find it so gave me another nursery gown to wear home. I never did get it back and had to buy a new uniform.Which was not exactly cheap even then. Another time a year ago I misplaced my umbrella or so I thought then when I went to take the access bus back to Gold Crest there under the seat was my missing umbrella. I had lucked out and got the same access bus and the same driver,he told me he had spotted it and told others not to touch it as he knew who it belonged to and he would pick me up to take me home and give me myumbrella. wow. what a nice guy.

I have. It was my cellphone and it slipped out of my pocket into the tricycle seat. The driver didnt bother to give it back. But he had the gall to text me saying that I wont have it back. My pant uniform was slippery and it was a busy day for us so it took me about 3 hours to figure out that my cellphone was missing. Anyway, your situation made me remember something from my high school. There was an incident of the missing shoes.LOL I forgot what activity it was but a friend of mine had to change into his costume. He put his shoes inside a plastic bag and placed it onto the side of the bench. After clearing his things, he forgot to put the shoes in his bag. It was just near our classroom so he thought he can just go back for it. Unfortunately, the shoes were gone and we didnt have any idea who might have took it. He had to go buy new ones because it was the only school shoes that he had.

I personally have not lost anything in public places before, and i hope i will never do. The reason why i do not ever lost my belongings is because,i pay alot of attention to my belongings,i will not leave valuables very far from me,and never never put them inside the bag. You could buy a small crumpler pouch and put in all your wallet and handphone inside. But if i will to ever lost my belongings,i will of course be very panic.

Yes in temples or some places where i removed my shoes and when i came back i was shocked to see that mine were missing. This happened to me many times before and especially when i was young. I didn't know why they took it but maybe because it was branded and costly. Nowadays i am taking care of my belongings and am not losing much.

i had a similar experience as yours.Once when i was travelling to my sisters place,i reach to her place but i was having official work as i told my Manager that i will be joining from afternoon.I was going to the work point in a taxi,i was having cloths to sold,When i reach near work point,i came out of the taxi and i went for a work.As i was hurry i left the bag full of cloths inside the taxi only.I was bit scared that sister might know that,i forgot to look taxi number or a name of a driver.I went to taxi parking searching him and when i told him,he said there was nothing inside when i come to know.i lost the thing as like that. after 1 month my sister where are the things, its not all here.i told i sold in a credit.I am bit scared till now.
