According to a group called WEWONTBACKDOWN, by the year 2012 the internet will be set up as pay-per-view channels and it will be too expensive for many businesses to maintain a web presence, virtually meaning the death of the internet as we know it. You can view the videos describing this possibility at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWQyRQX7d5g&feature=related. Could this be true?

That's entirely possible. People can put almost anything on YouTube and get a following.

I honestly think this is a big conspiracy theory. I mean, we get more and more free stuff from the net on a daily basis and then all of a sudden everything gets equated with an amount? With the internet being so vast and all, I think this is highly unlikely.

I hope our internet freedoms are here to stay. It would be a shame if these resources suddenly became unavailable to everyone. A lot of businesses would be devastated.

So far the score is 3-0 in labelling that video as another conspiracy theory.

I do not buy this study and I think it goes back to by in 1999 when everybody was worried about 2000. I think the only thing that we can do is live our life according to what God wants and don't worry about the rest. There are so many other things that we can focus on instead of placing unnecessary fear in the minds of people.

Good point. We could all survive without the internet. There is so much more to life than to worry about the trivial.

What a load of rubbish. It's taking over the world and it's not going to dissappear anytime soon. It's just going to keep on growing you will find more rubbish like what you found just there :) Be careful though anyone can put anything onto the internet and if you actually believe this, do some research and you'll see it's a lie.

I know some governments have limited it's citizens' access to certain internet sites. It isn't inconceivable that internet access could be controlled. But I agree the internet is probably here to stay.
