asian women fancy white skin, admit it or not. oftentimes, it drives us to try all sorts of bleaching creams and even up to the extent of taking whitening pills. just saying, "wow wat a glow, skin as white as snow" comes in with admiration, approval or even envy. it could be because of the age old colonial mentality or the media hype that having a whiter, fair skin attracts more and puts you in a pedestal. its like a status symbol having a white skin. so tell me, are you comfortable with your own skin color???

I have whiter skin than most people here in my country, but I feel comfortable with my skin not because of that but because it is my skin. I could get a little brown, and even then I'll still be proud of my own skin. I want to always feel secure about myself, and to be secure I just have to like myself.

I understand why some women like to have whiter skin because if you have whiter skin, any color that you'd wear would tend to look nice on you. Having a whiter complexion also gives you a neat appearance. But I'm very much happy with my skin color (brown skin) because it also has its own advantages. With the skin I have right now, I am not prone to skin cancer.

I am very comfortable with being white. I can say that I've never thought of being a different skin color, atleast not seriously. I think that the skin color of Asian Women are beautiful. Their skin looks silky smooth, and has a bronze effect, it just looks beautiful. I am a pale white, and there are times I wish my skin was a little darker, but I burn easily as well, so I'd rather be as white as blanket then brunt from the sun.

Women in western countries with light skin try to darken their skin. I honestly don't understand it. You should be happy with what you were born with and let it be that.

I am a very typical morena. I never thought of my skin color as a hindrance to anything. I never get concern that I am darker among most of the girls in the class. I even feel that I belong because most of the girls that I go with at school are morena like me. Then I married a guy whose got a half Igorot blood. When we are next to each other anyone can really see the contrast of our skin color. Then comes getting pregnant and having kids.. My eldest child is a boy and he got my skin color . Then my second child is a girl and when she was born her skin is as pink as the soft petals as the rose. Obviously, she got her complexion from her father's side of family . The moment I saw my little baby girl , looking at her sleeping in my arms..the very first thing i think of was "Thanks God you dont have the dark skin complexion like me." Right there and then I realize that even tho i never bother to become fair growing up , Subconciously I am wishing that all along ,I wish I have lighter skin. Making that realization when I gave birth made me think that I am comfortable with my color ..but i am hoping deep inside i ould be lighter and now I am very thankful my little girl didnt get it after me.

I am comfy with my skin color, thank you very much. For the life of me i cannot understand why people want to be or look different. You were made that way for a reason, why try and change it? TATA.

Im asian too and honestly speaking, I am using some whitening cream. But never thought of it as a status symbol. It just so happen that I want to even my skin tone and bring back my natural color which I lost during the summer. :)

Most girls in Australia lie around in the sun as much as they can to make their skin darker and contract skin cancer as a result. If there is no sun they will lie in a tanning studio under the sunlamps to make their skin darker and contract skin cancer.

I am also an Asian and I have a brown skin color. I like it as it is because it seems natural .I am not into having a white skin color because I am more comfortable with mys skin color.I don't want to change as I was born like this only.

I really think it is wrong to make stereotypes even if you are Asian. Skin color is a issue for every single race. You will always have people that wish they were whiter and some that wish they were darker. You will even have some that will bleach their skin to become lights and others that will tan all day to be darker. I love my skin because I love me and I think everybody else should do the same.

I am very much comfy with my skin color. I am asian and have a tan skin too. But a lot of my friends wanted to be much fairer.I always ask them how come they wanted it to be fairer. They just answer that its not really that they wanted it to be fairer, its just that they want to even out their skin color. So i tell them you can even it out by tanning. However, they result to taking pills and such because for them its much easier and has fast results.
