do men prefer women who can cook?

I wouldn't consider cooking a major. It's something I'd expect of course, it's a bit of a stereotype isn't it? Women are expected to clean and cook while us guys work and drink at the pubs haha. Yet nowadays, men can cook just as well as women. As long as one of you can cook - you're set.

Hi deve, First let me tell you that this icon/avataar is not as good as the earlier one! Maybe the b/w has taken over me! Hope you don't kill me on my remark on your personal choice. Now, I believe in the old adage - "The way to a man's heart is through hi stomach." I am fond of eating and this has made me a better cook too. The fact that I am at home most of the time and my illness doesn't permit me to eat anything that I preferred, could not kill the cook inside me. My wife is not that great cook and we occasionally have some bits of quarrels on her not being able to get that dish right! I son realised that I always lose out to my wife in arguments related to cooking. She escapes telling - "You can cook that one better? Really! Lets test!" and there I am in the kitchen preparing food...

hi! I'm not a good cook also, i only learned from it by watching other people cooking, but for me, to become a good cook,is not so hard like you are taking a degree to become a doctor,you only need a cook book and follow the step...and in a few times of experimenting, you will learn.

It would be better but I don't mind we can have takeaways or something :D I'm not very good at cooking but I just about manage and I don't mind the taste of my food, it's not brilliant but it will have to do until I take some proper chef classes ;)

guys like me do not put much attention weather my gf is good at cooking or not the importing thing is how you served your bf when it comes in cooking.for as long you know how to cook well eventually you will learned different recipe when you started cooking already and some might say that the best way how to get a man's heart is trough their stomach,uhm.. it can be true or not but the truth is for as long as you have the knowledge in cooling that will be better for only to served your bf satisfaction in eating but if he loves you well dont be bother about that im sure in every dishes you served to him will be the most tastiest food he ever had

I'd prefer the women who can cook

I am not sure. If two women are similar and one can cook and the other can't cook, perhaps I prefer to choose the woman who can cook. Here we have a saying: If you want to catch a man, at first you should catch his stomach. So you can see how important the cooking is. A real home means that you will have a meal there most of the time. Namely the husband and wife shall know how to cook. If none of them can cook, it will be a disaster. I love China

I don't think guys will love you better if you cook but as long as you know how to cook some things, it'll be fine. Plus, I think cooking is not one of the biggest factors guys look for in a girlfriend.

Being a woman I want to say that guys like a woman better if she knows cooking because men like to eat and nothing is more important to them than coming to home after a hard day of work and to eat the food his wife has prepared for him.

I believe that most men would like to have a woman in their life who can cook. Their mothers took care of them when they were boys. Now they look for a woman to do the same. If a man has to work all day and then come home and do the cooking, he may be disillusioned.

I have never heard of such a phrase lol --- as for me i wouldnt mind if she can't even cook the basic and instant ones ... as long as she loves me truly,thoroughly,completely,madly .great day.

When my boyfriend is still with me here in the Philippines, he is the one who cook our meals. Know why? He cooks really good.. and better than me! And it is his hobby, to cook different and new recipes from time to time. Luckily, I don't need to try to cook well.. He still love what I cook for him and eat it no matter what it tastes like. He just appreciate what I did, at least I tried.. It's the thought that counts.. :)

i do not think so, many women now adays do not know how to cook, even i do not know much also lolz, i do not see it to be a reason why your man would not love only for that thing. cooking is not a criteria whether a woman should be love or not

there is a famous saying in our country:"if you catch the man's stomach,you will catch the man's heart."funny?in my opinion,men usually prefer those women who can cook splendid food.i think delicious food is the first important thing,as after marriage,you two will live together.preparing wonderful meals for him everyday is an amazing thing,it will surely make your love sweet.but there is also another case,if the man really loves you much,he won't care much about your cooking.you just do your best is OK.

Hey i really suggest to you that keep on hard work to cooking a good food because men always likes the women can cook well.

It's my one of activity because i can cook well and specially i can make pizza so i am good cooker but Men always preffera good cooking wife that always make tasty food for him and the saying that the men's ways going through his stomuch so men likes test food and which women can make a healthy food for him.

There is a saying that,"The closest way to get a man's Heart is through his stomach",i am not saying that you only do the cooking and everything will be alright, No, i think this is one of the major function one must have as a woman, because most woman takes care of the Kids again i am not saying that Men can do that, in fact great cooks in the world are MEN...THANKS!

I think they prefer the women that can cook, but i don`t think is a criterion to choose women. If the man loves you, he will accept you without knowing how to cook, or maybe you can learn together how to cook, or you can search recipes on the internet.

I think yes they prefer women who can cook because usually men goes to office and they want a good food when they reach home.

I don't think men will prefer women who can cook.Cooking is not very necessary if the couple are true to each other.There will be no guy and a girl who don't know how to cook basic ones.Other than cooking, character is the must for the women.
