What would you do when you can fall asleep?

People sometimes can't fall asleep when they feel nervous or anxious .For me,I hate this very much and If I face such condition probably I will be crazy.I remember last time I can't sleep.I tried to count from one to one thousand then I forgot which number I counted.Also I turned over again and again.Maybe it was too hot to sleep or whatever.I just knew I trapped into a little trouble.haha.Now I have a regular timetable and usually I can have a deep sleep.That is all.What about you?

hi little rui! if i can't sleep then here come the great help of mine-reading books.i can deal with any books.somehow for sleep problem i will choose the book that hard to understand and makes you think twice and more.find that kind of books,read and i am very sure you will only need couple of minutes to get to sleep.don't go with books that you like the most.it will make you stay awake.it works with me.

Hi CTHanum!Your comments remind a friend of mine that use a similar way to solve the insomnia.He just thought a very difficult mathematical problem and finally he did sleep for he fainted:)

oh that's so critical!!i love that method too but i am very sure i can't go with it as for me i will stay awake till i get the answer and question is solved.your friend really need help but not in sleeping problem but in mathematics indeed.

I have insomnia so not going to sleep is a regular occurrence for me, in fact I was up until 4am last night. I usually tried to calm myself down with breathing exercises. After I have tried to sleep for an hour or so sometimes I get up and read a little, watch a little tv or do a little cross stitching. A hot bath can sometimes also help, and sometimes it doesn't matter what I do, sleep is just not my friend.

Um.If you really think in that way,you will alway tired.I think that you need to sleep early and dont take sleep like that way.Staying up late do harm to our physical health.Consider sleep as your friend,I am sure it helps to get better.Just do it.Have a good good sleep!

Hi, LittleRui Welcome to Mylot. I have been experiencing that lately. What I usually do is turn on my computer again and start reading and responding to some discussions in Mylot. If that does not help, I am probably hungry and so I drink some cold chocolate drink. Have a nice day!

Hi,Rain.I remember a science book says that people's brain never stop even when we sleep and if fact our brain can have a good relax while we have a deep sleep.So I think insomnia is a psychological problem mostly.Have a nice day too!

So lucky you are!I feel a little jealous for it.And I think that you must have a calm mind for your daily lives which makes you fall asleep easily.

I can't fall asleep when I'm nervous, anxious or too excited. I just turn over in the bed, thinking about the past events of the day or plaining new goals for the next day. Sometimes this takes hours. What do I do when I realize that it's time to fall asleep -- I try to relax, I try to stop thinking about anything. Yeah, the relaxing helps mostly. If I find out that I have a lot of energy, and I can't sleep because of it, I just stand up and begin to do something until I feel enough tired to sleep. I frequently fall asleep while watching movies. So I suggest you to, for example, turn on the TV and leave it to turn off alone after 30 minutes and to watch some movie. After a while, you will fall asleep. That's from me. Have a nice day.

I never go to bed, before i'm 100% sure that i can fall asleep soon. :) But last days i had problems with sleeping, or if i was sleeping, it was short and restlessly. So i have one pills what makes me feel relaxed and little tired. They are herbal pills, with mint and hawthorn, specially about sleeping or feeling nerve. I don't take it, usually, but if i'm too worried about something, this pills help me to fall asleep. Every night i go to bed, before sleeping, i pray. And this is how, usually i fall asleep :) I'm thankful about my life :) Cheers and nice sleep tonight ;)

I do not have these problem, I can fall a sleep where ever and when ever. But there is a time when it is fullmoon, then I have problem not sleeping, but is not becouse of problems or anything, it is becouse I react on the fullmoon. And when it happen I am online, writing, surfing, socializing and chatting with others. I use this time to spend time with friends around the world, and it is a good thing since we are in different time zones...some of my friends are online when I am a sleep and some are a sleep when I am online. So when those fullmoon nights comes over I enjoy spending the sleepless night online.

If you check my website on my profile, you will find an article I wrote on that very subject. But one thing I like to do is, think of all the people that have come in my life and see if I should give one of them a call on another day. I usually don't call anyone late at night.

if I'm can't sleep , usually I'm turn on the computer, login to mylot and then make or give feedback on existing discussions. Usually less than 2-3 discussions, drowsiness was going to come like now ... yes, it is now ... zzzzzzzzzz

When i can't sleep, it usually means my nerves are on edge. i have to do something to take my mind from my troubles. usually reading a book will do the trick for me. If this still doesn't help my sleep habit, i will turn on the television for a while. There's is nothing worse than tossing and turning and waiting for sleep to come.

This happens to me every now n then. What i usually do is play some online games on my iphone till i get bored. The moment i am bored i switch it off and try sleeping again. This often works for me. A small bit of tension in my head and I cant sleep the whole night. The best way is to divert your attention elsewhere and then sleep.:)

whenever i find myself doing some twists and turns in bed, i know i'm in trouble. specially if i have something very important to do in the morning... my remedy? i read. this works everytime.

its my usual problem, if I am not able to sleep on my usual time of sleep, it very difficult for me to fall asleep later on. sometimes, I only have 2-3 hours of sleep. but counting and listening to relaxing music sometimes help.

That always happen to me and yes it is so awful when you want to sleep because you have to yet your mind is so active and it is as if sleep is out of reach. Whenever this happens to me, as it always do lol, i walk out of bed then use my computer to make my sleepless time worth while and whenever i already feel sleepy, i then go to my bed quick not to let the sleep pass over me again hehe

I found a natural supplement called Melotonin...Its about 5 dollars for a bottle of it...Take it about 20 minutes before you got to bed...Both my husband and I use it when we can't sleep....You can find it over the counter at Walmart, Rite Aid, or even a grocery store... Good Luck and good sleeping!!!!
