hi jugsjugs that is great news is it not at cause at least you have the appointment. I hope for all your sakes that this will help him so he can sleep and all the family also can get their' sleep. with me here in Gold Crest its my roomie's night prowling that keeps me awake. I no more than get to sleep than she turns on a light and leaves our door open and walks out some place. The light 'wakes me and too I worry about her as she seems to be getting either senile dementia or alzheimer's disease. So then I lie awake wondering if she is okay but so far she is gone maybe twenty minutes then comes' back up.she can no longer remember how to take money out of the gold crest bank here or how to even get her mail. sad, and I do feel so sorry for her as now all she does is sleep all day then be up most of the night.

I use to look after people like her and it did seem like alot of them were a bit like hamsters, like you say sleep all day and then wander in to other peoples rooms allnight. We had one lady that use to bed hop as in going in to peoples rooms and getting into bed with them.It is horrid if you can not get the sleep you need.I hope that they will get him so that he can sleep.

Oh my goodness I know what you are taling about. I would be interested to know how things turn out with the therapist. How old is your son? My grandaughter is almost 5 years old, she will turn 5 in October. She keeps us (usually me) awake until around 2am every nite. It doesn't matter what time she gets up in the mornning and what kind of activity she does in the daytime. Good luck to you.

My son has adhd and we have tried like you have doing things to tire him out aswell as calming and darkening the house down, warm baths, etc. We have tried some medicine in the past that made him worse than ever,so now we hope they have found something that will work for him.I will let you know how things go and if it works i will start a discussion up to try to help otherts. We have tried cutting foods with sugar aswell as e numbers in them out of his diet.We are now giving my son weat a bix before he go to bed as they do not have sugar high content in them, rather than a snack that may have e numbers and sugar high count.I use to also have to sit outside his bedroom door to keep him in his room aswell as ensure he was not waking the others up,trashing the bathroom etc.

That's great news! My son does not have ADHD, but his sleeping patterns is also out of whack, so I have also experienced being awake way past 2am. Although it is not everyday, I still suffer through the day at work the following morning. Goodluck with your appointments, and maay he/she help you finally.

Your situation is really difficult, but just be patient, there are lots of cases like that nowadays and they are being managed by good doctors. Of course parents loving cooperation is always needed. Good luck!

haha =D Well be glad that your son is active, rather than being inactive!! Because u can be sure that your son will definitely be healthy as he grows up.. haha =D Though his attention span might be shorter than others, but once he gains interest in something, he will tend to excel in it.. hehe

That is positive news. I hope that your son can get the treatment he needs because, clearly he is affecting the whole family; it’s pretty tough to function without any sleep! The waiting list is sometimes long but hopefully it will be worth the wait to have him looked at. We are on a waiting list for an orthodontist at the moment; we cannot see him until November! Good luck with your son, let us know how his appointment goes!

That is great news. I certainly hope that when you get the course of appointments started that it will begin to get you some answers as to why your son isn't really able to sleep. I know that there are a variety of reasons that indivduals have difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep and I hope that whatever they are able to tell you in September is something that can be reversed without having a ton of medical intervention involved.

Wow, that must be hard to deal with. My son was always a nightowl as well, and now he has a job that he starts in the middle of the night so it has kind of worked to his benefit in some ways I guess.
