Friends at last we have a new symbol for our rupee like $ for dollar. I can’t type it here because the key board does not have. You can see the picture of the new 10 rupees coin that carries this new symbol. What is the currency at your place, do you have any symbol for it, how it is related to the US $? One US $ is approximately 45 Indian rupees. Please respond, thanks in advance. Professor

Hi Professor, I had seen the new symbol of the rupee of your country a week or so before while reading latest news on web. It's simple and easy to remember. I appreciate the young man who had designed this easy to read symbol after doing many researches about the background of the culture, etc of your country. I saw his photo as well as the detailed info about how hard he worded to try his best to create the meaningful new symbol. He had got it finally. It's rather sorry there wasn't any images of rupee with new symbol shown at the same time. I really keened to have a look at the rupee at that time I'm really happy that I have got it finally for the conspicuous images attached in this discussion to show clearly how attractive the new rupee with new symbol on it. Thanks for the sharing to quench my "thirst" lol....I wonder whether the old rupee is still valid in the local market. Or certain period is given for banks to collect and replace with the new one. Here, we have RM as the symbol of our currency. 1 USD is equal to RM3.30 approximately at the current moment. R stands for Ringgit (Dollar) whereas M means Malaysian in our national language. We have coin calling sen (cent) as well. There are coins of 50 sen, 20, 10, 5 and 1 sen too. A cup of hot black coffee served in the local coffee shop here usually charged RM1. Happy posting and take care.

Hi Professor, I am equally excited to see a very good symbol for our Indian Rupee. I really liked the symbol very much. I have seen photo of ten rs coin in news paper today. I feel having special symbol for Indian rupee is matter of joy and pride for all Indians.
