i was really pissed off last night when i was about to go on duty because i used to have the 3pm to 11pm shift, but when i reported yesterday i was told that my shift is from 8pm to 8am. they told me they sent me a text message but i didn't receive any. i was wondering what kind of HR people were they? no one had ever tried to make sure i get the message. no confirmation. there were many ways like call, and email than texting. hated my night shift last night because i haven't slept so it ended up with me awake 24 hours.

That's not right.. Actually, in the company I'm working it happens too. Yet, all we can hear is sorry. Most of the companies in our country (Philippines) doesn't have fairness with their employees. And we Filipinos just accept it with a sad heart because we don't want our family starve. I just hope the new government would take a look on this matter.

That is so bad... are you working in a call center? That's the dilemma if you dont have a fix schedule. They keep on saying that you need to be flexible. Is that what they expect being flexible?

hi hushi are you in the Philipines as in the US they do not have that long a shift, just 8 hour shifts and when i worked as a nurse's aide we were given two days off between change of shifts just so we could get sleep before going on the 11 to 7 shift.that is totally unfair of them not to give you a day in between and to work you 12 hour shifts. thats all wrong. If you have a labor board report your company to them.

you should have complained. how could they expect you to work if you didnt get any sleep. but it's not entirely the HR's fault. Your direct supervisor should have made some effort to contact you too. how come you have a 12 hr shift? are you from the Phil? if you are, check out the labor code and your contract. there are only a certain amount of time that they can ask you to wrk. if you have 12 hr shifts everyday, i'm pretty sure that is not allowed anymore.
