Which was the first operating system and who launched it?

hey guys i have been searching for answer to above question.till now i didn't get any accurate answer.But i just want to know more about operating system that's why i have raised this question.Please help me to get the answer guys.

There are no such evidences that which operating system can first but the first major job-to-job transition system, considered by many to be the first operating system was designed by General Motors Research Laboratories for their IBM 701 mainframe beginning in early 1956. Its success helped establishment of batch computing - the grouping of jobs into the single set of instructions. Later this concept was expounded into what we know "Multitasking".
