Hello mylotters! I know many members like me who are getting extremely low reputations according to their posts. Me myself just broke some laws some days ago but my reputations is still decreasing. It was 41 when I open myLot some hours ago and it became 40 now!! Friends have you got same experiences. (please don't talk like genius - new mylotters) I am loosing faith on myLot and planning to close it. Thank you!

Patience is a virtue sasuke I suggested yesterday that you: - forget about it - leave the money interests - go and post on interesting discussions elsewhere where others might appreciate your responses more and plus you. It won't go up overnight but if you keep drawing attention to it then it is more likely to drop. Pretend that it doesn't bother you at all

mysdianait than you very much for your help. But don't you think that if continues effort result as negative reward then a person could surely lose all faith. The same thing happens with me. I know I blindly broke some rules but haven't I ask for pardon? I myself surrender my false, but myLot just give me thrashes of reputations reduction. How can I feel believing in myLot? Yes I will try to post in different places and will try to delete the thought of earning money.

It is not myLot that is reducing the value of your star. It is other myLotters! They read your posts and decide how to rate you. This is why I suggest that you post in different places. You might make new friends too who are unaware of the previous mistakes that you made

I am pretty pardon wanter to all mylotters if I have done something very ugly. I am really sorry for doing all those disgusting posts that give me negative rating. @ mysdianit :- will you tell me which of my post seems to be most ridicules?

Your reputation reflects the value others place on your contribution to the site. I am not sure, but I believe this discussion will be deleted as well, but I am responding out of the desire to help you. You need to pick topics that are not based on earning sites and your difficulties. Respond to other people, and be positive not all doom and gloom.

I have been here for four years and I still learn from other users. Not necessarily older users, but those who pay lots of attention to the TOS and FAQ. I get into old habits, and things change, so I am not always as up to date.

Our great friend Mysdianait has said it all. All I can tell you is that our rating/reputation does not affect our earnings. Keep it up and do not lose heart.

mys! It means I was under the wrong impression that our earnings remain intact and it does not get affected, if there is drop in rating. Thanks for correcting me. I remember, I once started the discussion, long time ago, on this subject and one of the members informed me that our earnings does not get affected and I was blissfully unaware about the facts and was carrying a wrong impression.

Better late than never If everyone forgot that there is a neg button then no-one would be complaining about their earnings any more too

Deep it does affect our earnings. Our friend has noticed a drop in his earnings since his star dropped too This is from the FAQs: "The DRS (Discussion Rating System) is factored into our proprietary earnings algorithm, so this will help us properly reward valuable contributions to the myLot community" http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx

hiya sasuke why are you losing faith in myLot? what has happened? i think you're a bit too worried about your reputation and ratings when you should be focusing more on just enjoying yourself here. there are so many interesting discussions which we all can participate in...and the more other users notice us, and the better our responses & comments & discussions become, the ratings and reputation will naturally go up. but if we are not active enough and not many users here know about us, then of course it would be difficult to get better ratings and stuff from the other myLotters... please allow me to advise you to go surf around myLot for a bit. get your name out there..not by starting too many discussions, but by participating in a lot of discussions.. get your opinion known. let others know that sasuke96 has a lot of good things to say, and you can even try to be a bit humorous in your responses.. it will all add up in the end

Yes my reputation used to be 76, then one day I decided to go responding to a lot of discussions.. The next day I opened mylot and my reputation had shot down drastically. I don't really know why. I'm always positive on here and try to help people, I'm not sure what was going on that day because I thought I was being pretty helpful I've seen people with a reputation of 15 though, and couldn't understand why. Nobody deserves a reputation that low unless you've been picking fights on here and the person wasn't! Good luck to you though! Don't close your account just yet!

@raffymalbas, do NOT follow this mylotter's example. You hear him complaining that he is losing ground. He is refusing to learn from bad experience, and does not heed good advice from people who try to help. Listen to people like the first responder. MyLot is a social site, so come be sociable, and have fun.

The rating system on here means nothing as far as I can tell. Sites put them on because people have the need to feel like they are important on sites or something like that. It's kind of like having hundreds of "friends" on my space or face book and not knowing any of them really. It doesn't have anything to do with making money on here so let it fall to 0 in my opinion. It's just a number.

The honest, and most trustworthy members of myLot are those who are proud of their mid-range rating! The problem is that Blue 10 Star! Once you have such a star you must be constantly careful not to offend, (by taking the opposite view) and must pussyfoot around all contentions topics. This is not helping to make myLot an interesting, and educational site! Halfway up the stairs Isn't up, and isn't down. It isn't in the nursery, it isn't in the town: And all sorts of funny thoughts Run round my head: "It isn't really anywhere! It's somewhere else, instead!" (A A Milne)

I think you're right about that rosdimy. A lot of it depends on the way our opinions are written. By no means is it foolproof, but it certainly does help.

I think it has more to do with the way we write our opinions. I have seen members taking a confrontational approach when discussing certain issues. Even a soft angle can cause a backlash, what more when using an aggressive method. There are members who dislike being told the truth even on matters related to myLot. Those doing the telling will probably get the flak from this group. Sometimes I wonder who exactly are 'members of myLot.' Forgive me if I am totally wrong here.

I wouldn't worry to much, as when I started out, I was low too, but it gradually started rising the more I was here and the more I participated. I have also lost some too, but now it is slowly going back up. I have never really worried about it one way or the other. I just participate and hope for the best. You will find in here that there are some that will give negative ratings just because they disagree, and amylot says we aren't to do that. You can bet thought, that mylot knows what is going on, and they do take care of it. I hope you don't quit mylot, as it is a great place to be, and I really do enjoy my time here, and I have learned so much, and I hope to continue to learn as well. It is like diana said that you need to be patient and your reputation will go up in no time. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

My ratting have ever decreased from 7 star to 5 star but I didn't bothered of that. I just keep active here. I don't too care about my reputation. Mylot reputation is depend on other member who rate us. There is no we can do. We only can make the best post we can and up to them whether they will rate me (+) or (-). So, you have to be patient. Just keep active here. Make post as many as you can with good quality. Even though you can't increase your ratting, at least you can get paid every month.

I experienced the same before, it's an honest mistake and I didn't take the case seriously. It just happen sometimes. What I did is I've been more active, trying to learn new things each day from socializing and interacting to to other myLotters. It's alright friend, just keep your spirit up. It doesn't happen to you alone. Get your track back. GO Go Go!!! :-)
