I actually know what you mean - I USED to feel the same way. But now I have two young kids and believe me, now my sleep time is PRECIOUS to me - ha ha. I still think I can get more done if I didn't have to sleep, but I'll tell you - when you are deprived of sleep, your body will tell you it's burned out . . . and it will beg you to get some sleep! And how revived I feel once I do get some real sleep (if I ever do!). But, I do agree, the hours spent sleeping could be more productive!

I'm going to hazard a guess that you are young, because I suffer, and I mean SUFFER if I don't get enough sleep, and the fibro keeps me from getting enough sleep enough of the time that I seem to be sleepwalking thru my life...

I used to be like you. But sadly, I've given up on life. Everything I have tried to do, failed, so now I'm super super lazy. I sleep constantly. I'll likely be in bed by 8 PM, and wake up at 6 PM, unless it's the weekend, and then I sleep till noon. I used to try really hard, and work two jobs. But after 10 years, and dozens of jobs, while never getting anywhere in life, now I pretty much take as much unemployment compensation as I can, while watching movies at home. So I love to sleep. 12 hours of sleep is great. Makes time pass by faster.

Sleeping is something that I just see is something that has to be done to me. Do not particularly like it but I do not really hate it. I think that it's just something that I have to do. It is a part of life, whether I like it or not. It is just something that I really have to deal with a lot of the time. I do think that there are a lot of things that I might be able to be doing when I have to sleep. On average, that might be like seven, eight, hours, which is a lot of time to get some work done. However, without sleep, I might not be able to focus to begin with. So it is just as well. Therefore, I am unable to really function. So in the end, I see sleep as a neccessary evil.

Hi coryi2010, I usually go to bed after twelve thirty in the night. I'm still energetic sitting in front of the laptop although it's already the wee hours. I know it's not good to my health if I still indulge in my computer work. I would wake up about seven in the morning without alarm clock I would take a thirty minutes or so nap after back from work. I feel really drowsy after a hard day work. Having a short but proper rest would get my exhausted body refreshed again. Don't make light of the short siesta. It really could make me to be energetic again and stay up until wee hours Have a nice day

i feel the opposite, i love to sleep. Because of work, my body is always exhausted as well as my mind. the only time i get to feel at peace and relaxed is when i sleep. I don't think i'm lazy just because i love to sleep. It's one way the body recuperates after a tiring day at work. If given the option to eat or to sleep, i would prefer to sleep first before i eat. sleeping energizes the mind and the body especially when the sleep is good/sound. Sleeping also keeps us from aging too fast :)

Hi Cory, I am kind of the same way. I don't like to waste my days or my nights just sleeping. I work and even when I'm not at work, I am constantly doing something. Still, I have to say that as much as I hate the time spent on sleep, I do love it while I'm doing it. I fall asleep and I love to dream and just be all cozy and comfy. I don't go to bed until I'm at that point where sleep is absolutely delicious. I usually get about 4-5 hours sleep a nite. I do have those times though where I just can't stop sleeping and I oversleep. Oh, you have no idea how upset that makes me when I wake up and realize that I've overslept by several hours! Even if I have no real commitments or plans for the day...that is time I won't get back.

You're really such a busy guy. You have a good point somehow but forcing your self not to sleep will weaken your immunity and energy in your body. Without this 2 factors you cannot accomplish things and it might gets worst. I love to sleep, It makes me feel fresh and healthy. (-.-)zzZZ

No matter how busy/active we are, we should have enough time to sleep in order for our body to regenerate/recharge. Enough sleep is good for your health.

Well i don't understand why you hate to sleep as it's a precious gift of nature ask the people who are suffering from insomnia and can't sleep well.So never try to think against nature .I suppose you don't know the disadvantages of insomnia. So if are given this gift from The one who is the greatest of all, always pay gratitude to him.

It does seem you are a really busy person and always on the go. I am one of those people that admire people that don't require a lot of sleep. If I am avoiding sleep for one night then my body and mind will bug me the rest of the day because they would know that I haven't gotten my regular sleep. But with people that don't require a ton of sleep they can get a lot of stuff done in a day.

I love sleeping...it is like a relaxation for me and recharging my energy . I even love it when i get to have a chance of a 5-minute nap.I call it my "power nap" because it will recharge me to go on for the rest of the day or for the rest of the night when I am on night shift. I am a full time mother and working too. I am up at 4am and lucky enough to be in bed at midnight or 1am. I love to sleep because I know my body has been deprived of it and I don't think I'm being lazy when I long for a short nap, exhaustion wears out people and it is not healthy for fatigued bodies to work its limits.

It sounds like you have insomnia or something. Try and blacken out your room as much as possible, like put a black cover over your window. And try and relax properly before you go to sleep. I hate when the 6am sun wakes me up. We are meant to sleep for a long time as this is how your brain cells revitalise themselves. I think you need to try to loosen your outlook on the sleeping part of life.
