I Have No Energy Lately. Weather Doesn't Help.

Here in the UK the weather has been abysmal, it really has. I don't know about the south of the country but here in the north it rains one minute, the sun comes out the next and it's not that warm either. I do realise that there are many people in other countries who are just way too hot at the moment (and I do sympathise) but we don't even get a full week's worth of sunshine here. Does my head in. So it could be this that is making me feel a bit down. I just feel like falling asleep and not waking up again, quite frankly. I do have a hospital appointment to look forward to(!) in exactly 2 weeks time so perhaps I shall get some answers then. It's only taken about 8 months! How is your mood this week? Has the weather cooled down yet where you are? You can have some of our rain if you like, I'm sure you need it.

It has been a bad week for me too... The weather has been very unfriendly lately... It rains and rains... Creates a lot mud and mosquitoes etc... There are people who are suffering from those mosquitoes and from the diseases that they carry on and inside their bodies.. While I am writing this, I have fever, cold and cough... Couldn't go to work today... My job involves talking over phone with our customers, so if I had gone to work today, my unfortunate callers would have heard a lot of coughing and sneezing and many apologies for that... Don't want that to happen... So staying home and praying that I'll get better tomorrow... Awful week, Janey!

Thanks a lot.... I hope too, that I will feel better tomorrow... Just had a little brandy as a medicine for cough and cold... Once they are gone, their companion 'fever' will be gone too... ;) Man, I have to be at the office tomorrow... Hope, I get better...

Have you managed to get into work yet? I hope you are feeling better. Nothing worse than being ill at work.

Awww! I do sympathise. You are doing the right thing staying at home, especially with the job you have, speaking over the phone to customers. I hope you feel better soon.

I wouls actually love to see some of your rain. We have been so hot for so long that it has been exhausting in that way too. There are heat indexes of 105 all the way across the weekly weather report. There has been no relief. I can't remmeber it ever being this hot for this long here. The humidity is a killer too.

You live in Texas, is that correct? I have heard a lot about the conditions in that State and I sympathise with what you all have to go through. Is the State OK for water? How does that work? I hope it gets cooler for you very soon.

Whereabouts in the US are you? I watched CBS News the other night (it's on the Sky News channel at 12.30 every morning for half an hour and I really like it) and they showed the USA map. I was gobsmacked at the high temperatures virtually in every State..especially the ones going across the West to East and those in the middle. Sorry to be so vague, I'm useless at remembering US states although they did show a municipal pool in Texas that had the kids waiting for a load of ice to be wheelbarrowed into it to keep it cool. It was outside too. I just can't imagine it being so hot that pool water is too warm to be comfortable in. The temp at the side of the pool showed something ridiculous like 125 degrees F, something like that. The mind boggles!

It does worry me, all this extreme weather around the world that is breaking records. Pakistan with the floods and Moscow with its smoke from forest fires..when will it all end I wonder? I have a bit of good news regarding our weather...it's supposed to brighten up for the weekend but I'll believe it when I see it! I'm here for you too, kind soul that you are.

We have had a lot of rain here over the last few days so please do not send us any more! So much yesterday that they closed the airport because it was flooded! We were supposed to pick up a friend at 4.30pm and then drive her home but her flight did not land until 11pm! We were looking after her daughter too while she was away. My wife was out all night driving and did not get to bed until 5am this morning. As it is winter, it is fairly cold and miserable outside at the moment with all the rain. (For here anyway, you might think it is warm!) I have less energy at this time of year. I am much more energetic in spring and Autumn when the weather is warmer and the days are longer. I find that in summer I have lots of energy early in the mornings, but if it has been a very hot day, I can feel drained at night. Overall though I tend to be more energetic in summer as well than I a in winter time like now. I hope you can sort out your energy problem soon. It may be related to your adrenal glands perhaps?

It's related to something I know that lol. I can tell you don't like the winter. I'm not a big fan of it either, especially our last one with all that snow and ice. Not good. I felt sorry for Mum trying to get into work (either on foot or on her bike) and no-one at work offered her a lift which I thought was appalling. One woman even glanced at the clock as Mum was in a bit late one morning...and she'd already fallen over once on the way there which was why she was late. No way would I have struggled to work like that..stuff it I say! So, when your weather improves ours will deteriorate. Great!!

That sounds like too much hard work for your mum having to do that to earn a living. Sounds too hard for me! Yeah, well I guess we have to be grateful that we do not get snow or ice here where I am. We do not even get frost! We just get lots of rain! Brisbane has had its highest 24-hour August total in 123 years yesterday. http://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/record-august-rain-floods-queensland/14789

My mood is sort of bleak and the weather here in Chi-Town does not help. It is so muggy and hot you can bearly breathe. I think all over the world so many people are exhausted with so many economic issues going on right now. Hopefully you are not anemic as a blood test can determine that or not. If so iron is best and if it is negative perhaps some vitamin C can help. Feel better

Actually, I am anaemic which is the reason why I am on the iron tablets. There are other issues causing the anaemia though, hence the impending visit to the gyny ward. Hopefully, I may get answers soon. A recent Womb Scan didn't show anything untoward so we really are clutching at straws now. I'll be in safe hands though, which is the main thing.

We are having a really hot spell last week and this one too. I do not really want to do anything when it is this way. I remember during the spring, though, when we had the weather like you are describing and I felt really sluggish then as well. Keep us posted on the hospital visit.

Will do! No doubt I will feel much better when I actually know what's wrong with me. Even when the weather is decent I still feel sluggish. My iron tablets don't seem to work that well either. Mmm, I wonder what it's like in the Maldives. Why that thought has just popped into my head I have no idea. Happens all the time!

its so hot and muggy here and it makes it hard to get up and do anything. its not the heat that saps your strength, for us here in canada, its the humidity.

I do sympathise, I really do. I like the sun but I don't like the humidity either. I also adore looking at blue skies but we haven't had much of that lately. I hope the weather improves for you very soon.

Yes, our weather has been gloomy here in South Wales too. Added to the gloom it has been cold too and I've had to put the fan heater on in my office. Not cold enough to put the central heating on though. And, I have just lost a very good friend to cancer, so that's not been good news for me at all. _Derek

So far august has been a very contrasting month. You would think,.. August.. summer, sunshine, days by the beach... but no. Example, i thought, last saturday, first saturday in August, lets do a boot fair. Got all organised, boxes packed neatly in car(its an large estate car, so seats down, tons of room.) What happens!!!! set alarm for 6oclock. get out of bed, go outside to look at weather, and guess what?? well you dont need to, we live in England,ITS RAINING . oh well, back to bed, unpack car etc., etc, but seriously, i live in the south east of england and we have had hot weather this year, but not when i am able to get out in it. i have seen it shining away whilst sittng at my computor at work, but weekend , hah, forget it, the sun either disapears and we get what is fondly called, 'overcast with clouds' or drizzle. as soon as monday comes, out comes the sun. But we are fortunate, in pakistan they are suffering dreadfully with floods and with other countries, children are dying because of the lack of rain. We really have to count our blessings. But big hugs from me to you, hope your hospital appointment goes well and you get the right treatment and medication.

Awww thank you, that's very kind.My Mum has noticed the poor weather even more than me. As she works in a school kitchen she is now off during the Summer(!) Holidays and she can count on the fingers of one hand how many sunny days she has had since she broke up. It is so frustrating when you plan to go somewhere and it all gets scuppered due to the poor weather. When we visited Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago I had a short-sleeved top on and I really should've worn my denim jacket over it as it wasn't that warm. Out of stubbornness (and the fact that it's SUPPOSED to be Summer) I refused. Good job it didn't rain very hard lol. You are right about other areas of the world...I feel for Pakistan, I really do, what is happening over there is dreadful..and I wouldn't like to be short of rain either. I suppose we are lucky being surrounded by the sea as our weather is so unpredictable? I will let you know what happens after I've been to the hospital. It won't be for a couple of weeks yet but at least hubby will have that afternoon off to take me...and for moral support, as I am soft that way!

It's hot, but not as bad as the East coast. Cooler than normal summer, actually. If you send rain, can you please send it between 10 PM and 4 AM? Thx...

Your wish is my command! In fact, it's been OK Wednesday (it's now early Thursday) as I had to go out..armed with an umbrella I didn't need. So much for the stupid weather forecast! I also sat on my wall supervising the moggy instead of cleaning. We had a nice little sunbathe, thanks. Sod it, I'll do it..er, later on lol.
