I recently sold my Zoom g2.1u (a digital guitar effects pedAL) because i finally decided to switch to analog gadgets the zoomis a terrific gadget by the way it was just under utilized by me so i sold it i found out that the only sounds i ever wanna make or regularly use on guitar is a distortion or an overdrive pedal and delay just having a distortion pedal and a delay pedal should get you through any gig you see... a distortion pedal can be tweaked to sound like an overdrive pedal note: like an overdrive pedal and a delay can double as a chorus pedal it's only a matter of knowing how to get the sounds you want you can have the most expensive gear but if you don't know how to use it, it might just as well be a pile of dirt so it's distortion and delay for me wah pedal is next since i only use it to flavorr and add color to my solos what's your favorite guitar effect? what do you like to hear? any particular brand?

I love distortion and delay too man. Altough, Im an acoustic player. I just record everything bare and then add all of the effects later, once the song is written and recorded. I make minimalist music. Id say that BOSS is my favorite brand. I like echo too.

I'm not really a shredder like you but I have Zoom 707II and 606 at home. My friend uses the 606 when we are jamming and also on small gigs. We tried analogs before but got lazy into tweaking so we turned digital and relied on the presets, just a little adjustment and we're all set. My cousin could tweak the zooms into similar sounds with his idols sabo and vai, I admire his skills!
