Does your family set aside time to do something as a family, like playing a board game, sharing the bible or something else that is a family thing?

Not nearly as much as we should. I wish we did a lot more of this.

We don't set aside a time to do things together. My husband is very busy and we hardly get to see him. But when he does get the time and is home on a weekend, we try to spend as much time together as we can...playing board games, reading and discussing books, going out an having fun with our son (some place that he enjoys..not shopping)

I have a really busy household here, so we may not be able to sit down for dinner together. But, I make the time to see how each of my sons days went. Now that my youngest is on the basketball team, he will tell me all about his day and practice when I pick him up. If it is too long to get in for the car ride home, we sit down so he can finish. My oldest will tell me all about his day when I take him to work and/or pick him up. My husband will tell about his night when he gets in the morning. As far as games, yes we try to set up times on the weekend for us to either play games or watch a movie together. That too depends on their schedules.

Well, not as much as we used to. Everyone's life has become so busy these days. Holidays are the times when we come together, and when we do, the scrabble board inevitably gets pulled off the shelf, dusted, and the "rise and fly" (teams of family members competing against each other) competition begins!!

My son is almost 6 months old so board games are out of the question. However, we have our family time all day outside of naps and mabey a whole extra hour of his alone playtime with toys and/or teletubbies:)

We have started to take more time and sit down together. We are all big poker fans so we have a few games of Texas Hold 'Em and laugh and have a great time. We also play a card game, called Queens. Its adictive and makes a boring night pass by quickly.

we try to eat dinner together everynight and share then. My 2 year old is too young for most games but we try to play some with the 6 year old and let the 2 yo "help".

We eat dinner together every night and we try to play a game every Thursday. With the rush of everyday life and the invention of so many things- video games, computers, etc... I think it is important to spend time together as a family.

Reading this topic makes me sad..But don't get me wrong. It makes me feel sad because its what I really want my family to be. Have a family time..may it be playing games together, go to the movies, share stories, or even go to church together. That never happened to my family. Maybe because both my parents are busy. That's why I said to myself that when I have my own family, I will make it a point that I have time for the kids and have family time.

Because my son just turned four it is still hard to do games and stuff with him, but we do try to do things together as often as possible. We find it very important to spend that time together. We look forward to the days when we can sit around and play monopoly or something with him, that will be a blast.
