Yep went and bought a 14lb turkey and made it today and homemade dressing and baked beans. I usually make a new meal every day. I have not been feeling good so i thought if i got a turkey, I would be thankful not to have to cook for a couple of days LOL My question is why do we only make a turkey on Thanksgiving or Christmas? It smelled really good baking in the oven today. And they practically bake themselves. Do you notice there are holiday foods we tend to make during the holidays and not so much the rest of the year? I think I am going to add Turkey to my grocery list every couple of months instead of once or twice a year. It is a good meal and sure makes the house smell good LOL

Maybe because if we ate it year round it wouldn't be as special when you eat it on Thanksgiving. But I feel you on that. If you want a turkey or a full Thanksgiving dinner in August then why not!
