What type of site Facebook actually is?

Hello friends!
I have been a member in Facebook for more than a year. I joined here as it is a social networking tool/site. But soon I found the Facebook games which addicted me. I have also found that many peoples and company are using Facebook for earning money. So, what it Facebook actually is? A social site or a gaming site or a business site? I will give some reasons of each possibility -
1. Social Site:- For many people who are just using Facebook for chat and social work, Facebook is a social site for them. Also according to the internet Facebook, Orkut, myLot etc are called social networking tools/sites. Facebook has got all the features of being a social site. But, other types are also suiting for Facebook........
2. Gaming Site:- I have found via a record that there are about 1-2 million games in Facebook. Also I found from a record that 20% of people in Facebook just use this site for playing those games. I will give some examples of sper addicting games in Facebook - FarmVille, FrontierVille, Mafia Wars, Ninja Saga, FishVille, Happy Pets, Ninja Warz etc. So, what is Facebook? 
3. Business Site:- I have found that many companies and people are using Facebook for their money profit. Cloud Crowd is the biggest example of this as they are the biggest paying company in Facebook. Also many games company such as Zynga, Crowd Star, Ninja Saga use Facebook to earn money from the user of the game. So, is Facebook a business site?

to some it became an online diary, i have some friends who literally tells everything she does in his status (what is on your mind), from eating, taking a bath, reading, watching almost all his daily activity is posted.
i also notice they made facebook an online photo album site, some uploads pictures in hundreds to thousand.
and lastly, facebook became a bragging site, posting all properties, even cellphone cars, latest gadget and others.

For different people, Facebook is playing a different role in their life.
If one finds that the webgames on Facebook is so attractive, then he/she can play games there with his/her friends; Of course, you can regard it as a business site because many Facebook users sell products, promote their services and communicate whti their customers.
But in my eyes, Facebook is more like a social site. You see, all the webgames on Facebook are just tools that help you have a better experience when communicate with their friends; Everyone can promote their products or services on Facebook, but without such a social platform, I think there are no people who can improve their sales with their own efforts.

According to me Facebook is basically a social networking Site.
Its main feature is its Social networking ,that has gained it so much popularity around the world.
The other features and applications like gaming marketing, business and networking are just the add-ons to it social networking feature. Although its true that the Gaming and marketing applications have played a great role in the popularity of this site but still these features are just due to the social networking feature of facebook. If there would be no social networking, these gaming and business application would never be this successful.
So according to me Facebook is a Social Networking type of site.

Yes Facebook's social system has got spread like wildfire in all round the world. But, as gaming and marketing is playing a very large role in the fame of Facebook it is hard to decide what Facebook should get called. Facebook = social site/gaming site/ marketing site??

Hello i have a facebook accout too, but i visit there only when there is 'add friend' request, i just accept it, i am never serious about this site..
I have no time to play games there; what ever time i have , i enjoy it in mylot only...

You are lucky,in my country--China,we can not sign in the facebook website,as well as the youku website,they are limited on the internet.So it is a pity for us.Actually we want to know more about other countries through these websites.So i took a account here for sharing iders.

For me facebook is the place where i found a lot of my school mates and some friends, who live far from me :) I was addicted of the games too, but that period ended :)
It's good when there is a website, where your friends can share thoughts and you photos, i like that :) It save time, because most of them are doing some things there, which you can see, when you want to :)
Now i stay more here. I don't know why, just in one moment felt pissed off facebook, because my wall was full with posts of people who i don't know (but added because of the games). :)

I also found old friends, grade school and high school classmates in Facebook. We also use Facebook to post invitations. It is cheaper to send out invitation through Facebook and for sure that they will see it, since of them check their FB everyday, and they can respond whether they will attend or not.

i called it a multifunction site!!!those are counted for facebook!you know what sasuke??? im getting boring with facebook when it comes to social site(same thing, same status,bla bla..)
, i always heard from others that they are real facebook gamers(they paly it all the time)
and the only thing that makes me stick to it is the business reason.i love to search for people who make business and view the products.haha..em]lol[/em]
