I'm getting sick of it.I have given it away and the garden is giving me more. So i will eat more as this winter I know I will miss it. When I go to make something that I put it in. What do you do when your sick of all the zuchinni?

I have the same problem with my green beans. Only 3 plants and yet they just grow, grow, grow!! I was so thrilled and pleased when I picked the first ones but enough already! I have a couple gallons of beans in my freezer. You could do the same with the zucchini then use it in lasagna, soups (it makes great winter soup with vegetables, meatballs and potatoes) and other stuff. Look it up--you have to blanch it before freezing and there are places that tell you how and for how long. I know I'll be happy to cook my frozen green beans this winter!

I have already done that and ran out of room. I use the zuchinni in place of meat. As I'm not much of a meat eater anymore. So other then that how have you been? Karen

I've been great, thanks for asking! How about dehydrating some? Do you have a dehydrator? How about calling your local food pantry or soup kitchen and offering them them? Take some to church or put a basket in front of your house with a "free" sign on it! That's what I did with some of my beans and someone rang my bell and thanked me for the beans, how sweet of them!

I don't have any...but if I did I would make it into bread and freeze a couple of loaves so when I got hungry for it.....yummy! It would be at my fingertips!

I wish we lived near one another because I would gladly take some of your zucchini off your hands! I buy it at the grocery store every week. It is one of my favorite vegetables so I buy around 4 or 5 pounds of it at a time. Oh well, make the most of it because really it is free food at this point. Maybe you could trade with one of your neighbors or something for their extra fruits or vegetables. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I wish you lived closer! The zuchinni in the groceries here are terrible! I think it's too hot and dry to grow it, because the few neighbors who try it have ended up with stubby little things...and very few of them for their efforts. Have you tried freezing it? I would think that chopping it as you would for baking or bread making, should freeze ok? You might even try freezing slices, although not sure how it would come out. If you ever use it in vegetable (tomato, zuchinni, etc.) medleys...that should freeze ok, too. Good luck!

Hi onlydia, I am just planting my zuchinni and passed by just to check how many seeds should I plant. I have a backyard, not a farm. So I only need what I can eat. Would 3 plants be enough for a couple of people? I love zuchinni raw, in salads, in soups and puddings and I even eat it steamed with homemade mayo on top. But if you are hating it you could start giving them away to family, friends and neighbors. If you run out of people they can be turned into compost.
