Whether food or other products, do you purchase organic? Why or why not? What makes a product organic in your opinion?

Why not Mr.Dustershark? It's healthy compared to a synthetic foods. My relatives are farmers and i saw the process on how they use chemicals just to produce a salable crops(with that it increases the chance of having cancer). I discourage my relatives in using those chemicals and promoted organic fertilizer but they are not interested.

I guess it depends. When you say organic it should be all natural. When i plant crops i usually use grass, rotten vegetables, vegetable skin mixed with cow's waste. farmers thought me with this natural process in producing crops. It may take months but it's worthy. When it comes to chicken we don't feed them with boosters, we only use corn and rice(organic).

I don't purchase organic because I'm not 100% sure the benefits outweigh the cost. In my opinion, the only thing that makes a product organic is if it is completely natural, was killed (or harvested) humanely, and is blessed by Al Gore himself.

i go to " whole foods " and purchase organic fruit ans berrys during some months of the year. main reason, florida produce sux, most or all gets sent out of state and we wind up with stuff from central america. they say it's chemical free, i dont know but if its not those little latin american countries and their ways of watering and whats in their water scares me. i bought a bunch of apples last week from PUBLIX and i threw them all away, even after washing they just had a nasty taste to them, and they were from chile, no thanks.

I wish I could, but it's far too expensive. Perhaps when I no longer have to feed 5 children I'll be able to afford more organic foods. But by then who knows what will have changed.. by then perhaps they'll outlaw anything that is not organic.

Yes, we recently purchased organic chicken from my sister. It's tasteless and you have to boil it for a couple of minutes to soften the muscles, it is a little bit hard to chew compared to a ordinary chicken that can be bought in supermarkets. My mom doesn't like it because of the taste and it has no fat(she loves fatty foods that's why she didn't appreciate the organic chicken). Organic products are made in a way that limits the use of synthetic materials during production. And by the way we are avoiding ordinary chicken because we don't want our little brother to be gay in the future. gays are everywhere because of the food they eat(ordinary chicken are injected with hormones). I'm not against gay but we just don't want it to happened.

Rich - if you are partaking of organic goods, then how did you catch it? Car accident or vaccinations? simonelee - no it is not correct. your aunts and uncles either are pulling your leg, lying to you or are very misinformed.

I don't know if i'm going to admit it that I'm serious or not. I'm having a second thought right now. You might also laugh at me. I haven't read any discussions about "chicken". I got the information from my uncle and aunts. So what's the answer of your physician when you told him about that theory? Is it true?

I do not go out of my way to purchase "organic" because money IS an object. If something "organic" is on sale, OK. But the term is used and misused. There are to be strict standards for calling something "organic", but, as you know, people can get around anything if they want to, even unto mislabelling things. Add to that an early natural food advocate, Adele Davis, who lived a "scrupuously organic" life on her CA farm had a sad story to tell. As she was dying of bone cancer, she told Dinah Shore, an early talk show host, "I forgot one important thing. Even though I lived perfectly organically, pesticide free, etc., my neighbors did not and since soil leeches, water and chemicals travel,( as in "acid rain"), and so did their pesticides into my garden."

Only God knows the truth of that. But, in the natural, she was a basically healthy and robust woman, and not that old.

organic is always a better choice no second thought because it is natural I am an agricultural professional.....so when it comes to food please go for certified organic only becuase it is inspected by authorised agencies, basically organic food is food grown in natural environment without the use of synthetic fertilizers ,and pesticides the pesticides are dangerous chemicals and responsible for most of the health problems humans are facing today like Cancer, digestive upsets low blood Hb count so choice is with every individual ......Stay healthy or save money?
