India yesterday, celebrated its 64th ID at the backdrop of a million people who goes to bed with merely a meal a day and no roof above their heads. I honestly believe that there is more reasons to grieve and less reason to celebrate. Did those patriotic brave soldiers bare and laid their lives for a freedom such as this? You might think that I am being pessimistic but fact of the matter is there are REAL people living in a REAL world with REAL issues. Millions of Indian today are still deprived of their basic fundamental human rights. India today after 64 years may be politically free but not so economically and sociologically. Should we be dancing and feasting while our own brothers and sisters just next to us are struggling for survival? What would you say is India's independence - a curse or a blessing? On 64th ID of your country, if someone feels a pang in his or her heart like you, let me CONGRATULATE that country. I don't call this pessimistic rather I call it constructive. No doubt building a country is hard but building a nation is harder. Your forefathers had built a country for you and now these are you guys who have to built the nation. So adjust yourself in between the celebrations of your country's ID and poverty and other such curses;dance and feast with a pain of all those countrymen who go to bed with merely a meal a day and no roof. Then don't keep this pain within you, instead spread it like some sacred fire. This fire will definitely wipe away all the curses of your country. Very very good luck, and Happy Independence Day from my side ;)

I won't say it's a curse. But being an independent nation does not mean one is enjoying freedom. Because freedom is not only about being able to decide and do things one chooses to do, but freedom must also include being able to eat and not to eat when one desires. For those who are poor they chose not not to eat rather they are forced by circumstances not to eat. So it's not real freedom. I think this is one issue we really need to address or else we would get stuck with this situation for a long long time to continue.
