A new trick!

Hey friends
As you know many colleges have the bad habit of not allowing us to download anything from the net. So they cause quite a problem and hence no one can log in to the administrator account to get a full control of the system.
My friend recently found one such method to get into the admin account. With the help of dos he managed to tweak something and now whenever some senior faculty comes and logs in the administrator account then the password which he/she would type would go to his mail id.
This was quite a trick and when he showed me i asked him how he did it. However he refused to tell me. Do you have any idea how he did so?
Help me out friends!

even i a desperately trying to get the solution but no use my college is most intelligent one blocking all the sites..wah wah

well it's not a big thing.. it can be done using keylogger or bind your mail address with trojan.. and it's easy to install such software in any system which doesn't have antivirus. a simple script can work too. but it's all illegal.. you should explain your friend that he shouldn't do such activity, its easy to be happy while breaking rules but it's very difficult to do such task without getting caught.. as each computer maintain logs even after format computer expert can easily get details..

What your friend did is illegal and very stupid. He has very likely installed a simple keylogger. He will eventually be discovered by the System Administrator and very likely be suspended from college and lose his chance of a good career.
DO NOT try anything like this yourself.
You describe your college's Internet restrictions policy as a 'bad habit' which just shows how ignorant you are about bandwidth and proper use of other people's facilities. Go and talk to your Systems Administrator and ask WHY they don't allow downloads. You might actually learn something!

As from what a user said here, your friend should be reprimanded. Not only that, he could get kicked out and get a bad record!!! Using keyloggers are tactics of hackers, which cannot be condemned and is unethical. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIEND, ADVICE OR WARN HIM, TELL HIM TO UNINSTALL THAT KEYLOGGER. Or else, if you see your post, almost everyone told you to report your friend! Your friend's future could be ruined!!! Do you want to see that happen? If not, PLEASE WARN HIM!!!

lol...he used a keylogger to get admin password.
He might have installed it earlier in that system and when anyone type anything in it, that keylogger saves every single keystroke and mail it to the id saved in that account.
That a pretty old trick.

I have to agree with the other comments posted here. It is very illegal and he will at the very least kicked out of the school, if he's lucky. If not, he's going to jail.

it is illegal ,you should stop it ,just like stealing someone's password ,if you really want to install something or operate some software or download something you need with administrator's right ,i suggest you can talk to the administrator ,may it is better way than your friend's did
and if you this ,may lead to a worse situation ,download a document with virus ,thus will affect all the computers ,maybe it is bad to your college's administration system. so i hope you won't do that...

you should report your friend to the authorities. You all are there to learn, not download stuff. If you need to download stuff for educational/academic purposes, ask for permission. Otherwise, all you are doing is breaking the school rules. In my opinion, your friend should be reprimanded for violating the rules.
