When your favorite team was defeated

My favorite team in the professional basketball league here in our country just recently is defeated in their championship game. Its really sad for me when this happens. I've been a fan ever since I started watching basketball games. Same with the NBA. My team Dallas Mavericks was eliminated and its really sad. It makes me want to cheer the team that faces Spurs in the next round. How about you? What's you reaction when your team was defeated? You can also discuss about other sports if you want to.

Cool that I found this discussion. I am an alaska fan and I am passionate about basketball as a female. It was a nice game and more better if this game was decided with game 7 but well aces already won. Yes you will feel bad, frustrated, etc., and sometimes you even blame the refs and even your team's player. But then this emotion won't last long if the next conference will start again and you are going to cheer again for your team.. and yes 3peat for lakers!

Alaska played really great in the finals. That's why they defeated my star-studded team, SMB. Anyway I just hope they'll perform better in the next season. I'm really not a Lakers fan. But as an NBA fan I think LA Lakers vs Miami Heat in the next NBA finals is going to be an epic!

I am also a fan of basketball here in our country and everytime my favorite team was defeated, I always felt like crying. I'm always thinking what if the other player did not miss the shot, then they will win. But in the end I'll just tell to myself that they'll gonna win next time. :)

I agree with you. I'll always support them no matter what. And hopefully next season they will finally bag the championship.

aww that was really sad. I think Brazil was the favorite (well I think they are always the favorite in every world cup) in that world cup. Anyway just cheer on them the next time and pray that they'll finally bag another championship next world cup.

Well, our whole family is a big fan of SMB, too. How I wished they played like the 3rd game where many of the team players had 3-point shots. Anyway, it was a good fight and the Aces are all rejoicing now. Next time, we'll see... Go SMB!

First of all, I am delighted to know that many Filipinos are into Mylot. Hi to all of you! Although I am not really into PBA, I like NBA better. But this discussion is not about which league is more interesting so there is no need to compare the two. As for your question, it is understandable to get frustrated when your favorite team loses. I had been a Sacramento Kings fan in their old great days (2001-2002) and it broke my heart when they lose to the LA Lakers.

yes ,it is normal ,i just have several teams at basketball and football when they lost ,i would talk about this with my friends ,we together discussed why the team lost , we often said "what a nice chance ,oh ,no ,missing" ,bought a lot of snacks ,hope next time our favorite can recover from the defeat ,we would not take any extremely action to express our disappointed emotion ,i think it is not the right way to do that ,but for the crazy fans ,maybe they will ignore what i said ,ha no team can win all the time ,defeat an win will alternate ,only this ,the team can grow ,not only in strategy but also on cooperation ,and whatever the team will be ,i always support them

Same with my friends. Especially when the Celtics was defeated by the Lakers. We talked about what could have the Celtics did to win the championship. Anyway life will move on for me. will just pray for a better luck in the next season.

Victory or defeat is standard issue.I think that winning and losing is a very common thing.Since there is competition, certainly there will be winners.Losers did not need too much indignation.A person should learn to face defeat, can not fail before the bow,not to give up on themselves.Should learn from the experience of failure to pervent the same mistakes next time.As long as one can guarantee the same amount of error is only a criminal, then you can say that he is a perfect person.

Are you referring to San Miguel's loss to the Alaska Aces? I saw the whole game and it was exciting to watch. Even though your fave team loss, I can still see happy faces like Arwind Santos' upon receiving the bridesmaid award. They still did good but not the best in my opinion because some of the players that I expected to step up and play well didn't pour out their best. Players such as Jay Wash, Dondon Hontiveros and Alex Cabagnot. But anyway, you'll get over it soon. It's awful if your favorite team loses but that's really the part of a game. One wins, the other loses. As for my favorite team which is the Lakers, I really would want them to win a 3-peat. It would even be better if they won it vs. Miami's Trio. Best of luck

Yes I'm referring to that game. I already get over with it. I'll just cheer them in the next season and pray that they will finally win the championship. I think Lakers vs Miami in the final will be another epic NBA finals match. Even though I'm a Mavs fan I think that match-up is the best.

well of course i will be sad but if i have seen that the other team did a good job i will applaud it. i am really a good sport when it comes to watching sports games. during the last nba season i am for the celtics, when the lakers won i have seen that they did a good job on it so i am not sad or angry about it. The better team always win. but of course there are games that has a team won because of bad calls and such then that is when i will be angry.

I dont have a team for now because I am not interested in sports but when it happens that my bet team defeated one thing I feel is that I'll become sad not for me, for them because I know they gave their best to get the crown.

Of course a bit of a letdown, its different tho when you watch others sports, like last season's NBA finals. I was rooting for the Celtics, but they got beat by the Lakers. Normally it would have been deflating, but it so happens FIFA world cup was on. I was rooting for Spain which eventually won. So its ok i guess... you win some, you lose some. Now Celtics are retooling, and I think, they're gonna give the Miami "superfriends" a run for their money.....

I'm really not a fan of FIFA world cup probably because my country is not participating in that event. We lose some, we win some. But in my case all of the team that I'm rooting for was beaten. Hoping for a better season for all of my favorite teams.

I am a huge fan of basketball. I was crushed when the Lakers lost against the Celtics , two seasons ago. But hey , every team has their time. And the Lakers have had their time for two years straight. Let's go Lakers!
