Could you live without the comforts technology brought us?

Just Imagine that the world have lost all forms of energy taking away all our comforts. That means no more tv, no more internet, no more listening to your favorite songs and no more traveling to places that you have dream of going to. Of course there are ways to travel but you would have to rely on carriages, bicycle or ships with no steam. Back to stone age. If you have to cook something, you have to gather firewood and start a fire. In order to take a bath, you have go to the nearest water source and fill up your containers and bring it back to your house. Could we really live without the comforts that we are so accustomed to? What are your thoughts?

In my case we could because in some province here in the Philippines people do that. There are places in this country that technology have not even reach it yet and I've seen it in my own eyes. People used carabao for transportation and their lights are only lamps filled with gas and their means of cooking is by firewood and they drink water from a deep well and for those who don't have deep well they went to a nearest streams.

I use to visit my relatives who resides in the province when I was younger. And I always enjoyed going to river and taking a dip. Every time I go there I am refreshed. It is nice to escape from the urban jungle one in a while. I think people who have not experience that kind of lifestyle would really have a hard time adjusting if the scenario that I mention really does happen. Thanks for the response

I don't know about anyone else, but just reading this discussion scares me. No thank you I don't even know if I would survive a few days. The TV and internet would be hard but I could give that up for a few days if I had to. The cooking over a fire and the bathing thing, don't want to even fathom that idea.

I didn't mean to scare anyone. The thought just came to my mind and I was made me realize that we are so dependent on our comforts that it would be really difficult to survive without it. I think people living in cold climate would have difficulty in surviving too. Like you I think I would survive without the internet and TV thought. Communication is another thing to tackle. No more texting are phone calls. We will back to snail mail again. Thanks for the response
