As crooked as people are today, do you still give to charities?

Back in the day, I used to be more generous in giving to charities. Today, that is not the case. Some of the CEOs of these companies make millions of dollars. Where do you think that comes from? I prefer to donate items and time, so that is what I do. You can look at: www.charitynavigator.com to find out financial information about charities.

I always check into the organization track record before donating. Anything that involves a lot of money going to administration services is automatically crossed off the list. I've been involved with Invisible Children regularly, they're definitely a charity worth considering.

It is always good to be responsible with our money and still find ways to help!

Thanks for the site. I'd like to check it out. I still give to charities, but my main charity is my church. However, I also like to give to causes that seem to come up out of nowhere. Today there was a charity I read about on my local news site. They operate on basically nothing, and were helping a particular situation right out of the pockets of the volunteers who run the charity. So when I went to the charity's website I was thrilled to see they took paypal. Like I said, my church is my main charity (I definitely know my church is a non profit, lol). So there is no extra money in my bank account for another non profit. So when I saw this place had paypal, I sent them $10 out of my paypal account. I kind of felt what this was doing was more important than what I was saving up for. I didn't have much in it anyway. : )
