I read somewhere that Japanese movie Bataru rowaiaru was banned in USA , is it true or its just a rumour and if its true was it sick enough to be banned ?, as far as i know it one of the favorite movies of Quentin Tarantino.Though i agree that the concept of classmates and best of friends left on an island and forced to kill each other surely is terrifying .Does such movies entertain you or they are just too depressing , plz mention some other movies also in like these.

I actually had to dig around for this info but the film is not banned in the United States. I don't think anyone has picked it up for distribution. I just remember there being a lot of controversy with the movie because of the violent and horrific subject matter. I've seen both the film and its sequel and I have to agree that it was interesting once you get past the plot. It's really one of a kind but I was prepared for it since I was already aware of the manga. But I'm usually not into these types of movies, it's too depressing for me. If you're a fan of BR, you should also try the Japanese movie "TOKYO 10+01". The movie is heavily influenced by BR so you can see some similar elements. Besides that I don't recall anything being being like it.

Thanks for nice information mate, its really horrible to think that you are with your classmates thinking it would be a picnic and its a game where you have to kill your best friends to survive, but it indeed was well made film cant say same about the sequel though as it was not made by Fukasaku but by his son.I am not fan of such violent movies its just that there is a feeling of appreciation for effort being put in by director to make a well made fil even if its violent. Will see "TOKYO 10+01" for sure . Thanks a lot for your response.

Sure, no problem. Was glad to help. I haven't seen "TOKYO 10+01" either but it did sound like it would be a good movie to watch.
