Hi, In a democratic form of Government you don't take polls before making every decision. What you do is that you take opinions of people who was democratically elected by the citizens and then discuss them to reach a consensus. Sometimes the consensus can't be reached easily so you have to look for majority support. In democracy we don't directly deal with the people but with their representatives. The main problem that you want to point out is the demand of a hike in allowance provided to the ministers. Well, the root cause of the problem lies elsewhere. We often falsely believe that a mere rise in salaries will eliminate malpractices and corruption in governance. This is not totally true. The main cause of corruption is lack of nationalism. I wonder how many of these ministers have actually studied the constitution of India. I doubt if all of them are actually aware of what is happening across the country. This happens when you fail to promote education and general awareness among citizens. We choose representatives from a mass that hasn't been educated enough to respect democracy. What do you expect? The history of selfish aspirations of the participants of Indian democracy is as old as its history of independence. Thanks. God bless you

We can just expect inflation to remain in double digit territory for quite sometime now. Free money means fee spending - too much money chasing too few goods leads to inflation.

I feel sorry for Software Engineers and other people working for almost 10 to 12 hours each day so that they get enough to run their homes, and buy something that they desire. Unlike them, government employees have it so easy! I have personally seen how people in Registrar of Companies work. Their office is located right in the heart of the city where they have all sorts of sales going on. Invariably ladies leave to buy clothes or vessels or other gadgets that are on sale. All this while the employees of private companies sit and wait for their arrival so that they can get their work done. Nothing moves without bribe in cash. Every Chartered Accountant incorporating companies or doing any audits pays bribe - not directly - through office boys and staff members. There are a few honest ones amongst them. Found it funny that Registrar wore a shirt with torn collar while his assistant looked much richer.

I don't know much about India, but if the government officers charge people extra on everything, without helping people much, they should be overthrown. Every citizen in any country would know better on this. Why do we need some authority to harm us instead of help us right?
