Is singing a talent or a skill?

Singing is a passion that's coming from within. Anyone can sing, however, not everyone KNOWS how to do it. Perhaps it is proper to say that to sing PROFESSIONALLY means to have both the talent and the skill. But more often than not, best singers or even great musicians are those who have the real talent rather than the skill that you just learn by enrolling in a music school.

I think this is variable by person to person. Some born with a good voice, a special talent and some develop great skill all along the time of training and lessons. Or in some cases both of this. That is what makes great singers. That is add skills to natural talent, and make it sounds greater than just talent or just skills.

While talent usually opens the first door to a professional music career, both talent and skills continue to open more doors of opportunities. I can't seem to separate both as they are flesh and blood. One suffers without the other.

its not both. its an art. for some it was gifted by birth and for some an attachment made because of some situations in their life.

Singing is both a talent and a skill.
