I'm in aw of such women!!! Age does frighten every woman. And there are desperate attempts to cling on with some method or the other such as the Botox!!! But honestly two great beauties, Leela Naidu, and Nafisa Ali had or have no qualms about aging. They actually wore or wear their gray hair stylishly and can turn most of the eyes, even today. Way to go ladies!!!

It doesn't frighten me. My only fear is that I won't reach a ripe old age My mother is almost 92 and only recently has she become unable to do everything by herself and I would like to hope that I will reach that age too but, who knows. If I do and it brings wrinkles and sagging who cares? I don't and I certainly won't be spending any of my hard-earned cash on anything that will go against what Mother Nature has in store for me

Imagine the fun. Just let me know when you start using a cane or something. You won't be able to skate anymore, so we have to give you some hot wheels, my MD.

hi vandy age no longer frightens me as I am old so what. My white hair has gotten me a lot of compliments so thats okay. I used to dye it but heck white hair comes with age and sometimes it even looks pretty and I have pretty eyes blue green so that also makes me happy. Although I am sad that my left eye is bad and nothing can help it, my new glasses for more for my good eye so i can see better again.

Hello Vandana! I think those who are not afraid of their grey hair must be commended. It is true that both the ladies, which you have mentioned look graceful and charming, even in their grey hair. I appreciate those who remain in their natural self. Going for Botox may give a person a younger look, but s/he would appear to give you a 'plastic smile', instead of natural smile. I am sure even if one may go for plastic surgery or doses of Botox etc., s/he cannot defy his/her actual age. S/he may fool others by his/her looks/appearance not himself/herself.

You are right that they cannot fool even others, because if one gives them a close look, one can come to know about their actual age. If they go for any kind of treatment to look young, they get conscious and talk about their fitness and younger looks, it appears correct to me.

Deepu - they dont fool even others. You see - those who have known them for long already know their age, and when they opt for such treatments, the talk about their age figures more prominently, for example - Oh you look so much more radiant with that treatment... meaning you looked awful without it, and will look awful after this so keep on wasting some more of your monies while I get the last laugh.. he he. I dont even like those women who go to gym to look extraordinarily slim and trim. Because when they lift those weights, they end up exercising wrong facial muscles, during that effort, and in the process, they look more gaunt. What is the point of having good figure without a good face to go along with it? Wouldnt it be better to say - oh yes, I am old - any problem with that? :)

Well, here in my place nobody cares about aging, it's just a cycle of lie.. I can see a lot of people walking in modern clothes with colored hair even they have crossed 45 or above.. They love being themselves.. I doesn't care about aging, it's been very nice when i was in my teenage, now i have crossed 20 and i'm a graduate and i have responsibilities..

Interesting discussion Vandana. I feel white hair is the symbol of wisdom. I never colour my hair and the white hair is my natural colour. I feel I am quite active at this age of 61 and my inspiration is always our earlier Prime Minister Madam Indira Gandhi. She was so brisk in walking, and talking. I heard she was having sleep only for 4 hours.

hi vandana... i think we can hide your actual age by many methods. not only them but u may give a look at rekha, queen alizabeth, marilin monroe and many more who were more young than their age. i like the smile of nafisha ali. hahaha...

To an extent Shibam. But beyond that it is difficult. So it is better to accept aging gracefully rather than increase the makeup and wear more jewelry. Such things look more odd.

Oh yes, hats of to them. I saw Nafisa Ali in chennai airport one time and I was like..she is familiar..who is she..she was in a book store..by the time I realised who she was, she was gone..she is one beauty I must say. Another lady worth mentioning is the late Gayatri devi. Oh she was fabulous, stylish and had that look. Just her simple crepe sarees and pearl jewellery looked perfect on her.

Yes. She was another graceful one. She let her age show and did not hesitate to wear the white hair when the time demanded it. :) Imagine how odd she'd look with wrinkled face, and jet black tresses. Ugh! Other women who have not feared age would be - Nandini Satpathy - boy was she pretty! I tried to sketch her face once! I was more successful with drawing Grace Kelly than my Indian beauty. :(

Hi vandana, yeah you can add Sridevi, rekha actress. How they look, still so beautiful, i think that is interest and the maintenance. If we feel that we are go old then it will lead to some kind of depression, if not stylish but with the young and sweet heart will enhance the beauty and also life. I always take the inspiration from those people.

I am afraid I cant add Rekha to that list Jotomy. She looks overdecked - and outdated if I may say so. Doesnt she feel odd - nobody wearing her kind of clothing anymore? She seems to be going Vyjanthimala Bali way! How odd she's started looking. She used to be so pretty when she was younger.
