with the holidays fast approaching this time of the year brings back memories and lost holiday traditions. decorating, caroling, candy apples and HOLIDAY CARTOONS. what the he11 happened to the holiday cartoons of yesteryear. you use to be able watch all the classic holiday cartoons like bugs bunny, the peanuts and tom and jerry they all had specials for every holiday. what happened did the grinches at cbs, nbc and abc feel there was to much holiday joy? or is it a way to be politically correct by punishing the rest of us because the minority is not represented. BRING BACK THE CLASSICS!!!!!

My husband ordered a bunch of CDs for the grandkids that contained the old classics and they had no idea who most of them were. Kids today don't watch the cartoons you listed...they watch other cartoons and those characters have holiday specials...at least I think they do. I did love that pitiful Christmas tree that Charlie Brown though...and Pigpen could raise a cloud of dust even in the snow.

I agree, bring back the classics!! I used to really enjoy TV around Christmas time just because of the classic cartoons and other Christmas shows. I have started buying one or two each year. I have 6 or 7 right now and I don't have to wait until Christmas to watch them! :) Charlie Brown's Christmas is still my favorite, but I like Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, too... and others, too. I wish that just one channel carried all the oldies.

Sorry, I got carried away with the cartoon thing and posted before I was through... Also, I would love to go caroling again, too, but nobody does it any more. I went a few times in the past and it was so much fun. I still decorate like crazy and probably always will. One thing I miss is the school Christmas plays. I remember bringing home popcorn balls and fudge and trinkets from the Christmas tree after we'd done the pageant. It was always so exciting and fun.

I've not been paying too much attention to Holiday t.v. the past few years, but I have noticed that well a few years ago they introduced "grandma got run over by a reindeer" which admittedly is a cute cartoon but isn't the same as the classic cartoons. I also saw last year that they had made or were making a new cartoon again. I used to love watching the classics on t.v., Frosty The Snowman, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, all of them... By the time my husband and I have children, if they still don't have the classics back, then we will just have to hunt them down on vhs somewhere.
