Mylot Spamming me?

Hey all
I am getting a bit annoyed with mylot now, as recently, i have started being sent emails from them every time one of my friends starts a new dicussion. I am finding this really annoying, is there any way to stop it? I went on preferences, and there are no boxes clicked for let mylot email me. It is really annoying that my inbox is getting spammed by this site, and as i need this email adress for important emails, if i cannot stop it, i will be tempted to leave mylot!
Please someone help me

Thanks for this post. I am also having a hard time checking my important messages. I have provided another folder to sort out my mails from mylot, but it's filling up my inbox again.

They are not spamming you, not informally, formally or legally. You have selected or given consent to whether and what emails mylot may send you.
Check preference - notifications and select what you want mylot to send you. It is that mylot isn't so anal about this but it is illegal to accuse a company of spamming you while you have given consent.

Actually, I think it is great that mylot sends me mail because I can make money by responding to other peoples responses. I did not know we can prevent emails from coming.

haha,i think it's not spamming,my friend!
you can just change the notifications to off mode to every friends in your friends list if you don't like to receive notifications from them.you can choose who you wanted to have notifications with,or uncheck it all for you to have no notifications at all.
this was a problem to me also when i was newbie,and by reading some of discussions here,i have learned a lot from them.

Had you read the FAQs you would not have been 'spammed'(?) as it is all there:
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq12.aspx#5
You could even use a seperate email address for myLot thus keeping the other one free for your important stuff.
Leaving myLot should only be a last resort and not for the reason you mention

Go to your friend page and hit "notify off" for every friend that you have a notify on... they aren't spamming you.

This happened to me as well.. At first I had them all sent to my junk mail, but then I realized some important things were going to my junk mail as well, and they were getting lost between all mylots messages.
So what you do is go here: http://www.mylot.com/nr/friends.aspx?t=0
And you have to turn the notify off for every single one of your friends.. It's inconvenient but this is the only way.
