Yes our State Fair started Thursday and goes through Labor Day Sept 6Th. In my 36 years in Minnesota I have yet to miss a State Fair. We prefer going on the last Sunday to see the Talent Show Finals. So next weekends busy, my neice and her family are coming to go as well. I have to have 2 things to eat at the State Fair too. That's a Cream Puff home made and the Australian Taters. http://www.mnstatefair.org/ Do you attend your State Fair? What's your fave thing to eat there? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Ah, the state fair. It's been so many years since I've been to the fair. I think I might have been eight years old the last time I attended. I remember how good those funnel cakes were. I love funnel cakes! If I could, I'd go to the fair for funnel cakes only. But I'd also like to ride the rides. It would be about a 45 minute drive to our fair, and with the heat I don't feel like fighting the crowds. Let's face it, I'm a party pooper.

I will keep going each year till I can no longer walk etc. If I have to, I'd use an electric chair or whatever they're called. They even rent them for just a deposit, no cash just a CC for deposit. I love the thrill rides. Not the Midway canie rides, but the thrill seeker types like Bungee, etc etc. My wife will never go on those types of rides. Mine is about a 10 or 15 minute drive is all. Yeee Hawww! Ours has a lot of air conditioned buildings so the heat is no issue. We get roughly 100,000 per day attendance each year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I am ho0ping we will go on a Friday night, or Saturday during the day. Ours starts Sept 10 and runs for 10 days. I would love to go hear the Oakridge Boys, but it would depend on the night. We get up awful early for Bob to go to work.

My state fair is a great state fair, don't miss it, don't even be late (hums)... Ours was always mid-August through labor day weekend, but this year they made it a month earlier. The schools here start in August, so they wanted to have it while school was still out for summer. We go most years, and everybody's favorite is the cinnamon rolls.

sounds like you are going to have a great time, that is wonderful. I just went through a long and exhausting move and I am far from having my place in order.

Good evenin' GB.. How you be? I'm doin' ok I guess. Never been to the state fair and probably will never go. We do have 2 county fairs we go to depending on our mood. Last night we went to the Will County Fair and enjoyed just walking around and eating dinner there along with an Elephant ear and cotton candy. Don't know how we managed it but ended up seeing the tractor/truck pull for free.

Its been a while since I went....too much walking! But I do go to our fair once in a while....I also love the food. Funnel cake is my favorite...I hear this year they have some sort of potato that is dipped in chocolate? Don't know if I would be brave enough to try that!

We get there about 8 a.m. We pace ourselves taking a lot of breaks to watch entertainment. So the walking isn't all at one time. It's a twirled tater on a skewer then fried then dipped in chocolate. Kinda like chips but all one piece strung on the skewer. Looks tasty too. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have not gone (for fun) in a long time. I was always too tired when I worked two jobs. I went a couple of years when I worked with the adult disabled clients. We would go to just look around and eat one night, then take a packed meal and go to a concert on another night. I am hoping that it works for us to go one night this year.

the state fair in Texas is up in Dallas (3 1/2 hours away) and I don't have any place to stay, so I'd just as soon take a pass, like I have the other 55 years I've been here...
