saying "Yeah, I'm On My Way" when you're still at home

Hi everyone.. That title came from one of my "like" pages in facebook while I was browsing it earlier. Just wondering if how many here are guilty of saying "yeah, I'm on my way" when in fact you're still at home. Are you always like that? If yes, are you almost done and really ready to go? I hate to admit it but I'm very guilty with that. I am always like that, as in always. Worst is sometimes I'm not yet done preparing so I have to lie again like traffic or whatsoever. Really bad practice that I hope I can change right away. Share your thoughts...

I was really a victim in the past by this universal sickness. And later I come up with the solution, to text them in advance saying 'I am ready and about to leave' but the fact is I am not. This thing works for me because they just arrive in a small interval of time from the time I arrived. But well not saying that I don't do it but is not bad to say I am going to be late. But well if this is a product of laziness try to start to discipline your self now.

This is indeed a product of my laziness! Totally agree with you, must start to discipline myself! :)

I do that, when i know the other people are very hurry, with i can calm the person and try to prepare me faster. i know it is bad.

I think we've done this a few times but we usually are right on our way, we might stay a few more minutes at the house because we're eating real fast or because we've got to make sure we've got everything that we need. We try to be as prompt as ever though, and usually don't keep people waiting too long.

Yeah, I agree with you. That's the common scenario for everyone! :)

i am very guilty about it.... but what can we do? it is consider a white lie. So, I know that if I kept my friend waiting he'll be mad at me. So just to lighten the situation...., I'll tell him just give me a minute I am on my way... at least he'll wait. And stop bragging you about being late. hehehe

Well its not a good practice. But sad as it sounds, that is also so 'me'.

i do the opposite. i say "i'm on my way" when i'm already on the jeepney or tricycle a couple of minutes before saying/texting that. i don't like it when people wait too much for me. but the case is i am always the one who waits the longest when i meet with my classmates and friends. i am the first to come to our meeting places usually.

me~ i'm so guilty of it... for some reason it becomes a trait of everyone that makes people know that this is how we people are... sometimes i'm really ready to go but sometimes it may mean 'yeah i'm on my way.... to the bathroom to brush my teeth.' maybe it's just something innate that makes us say it coz we don't want the other party to nag at us or something

I must say I have done it a few times, but only to people I am close to who I know will give me great grief if they knew the truth. They usually never know the difference and it's one less thing for me to stress about.
