My dog understands conversations!

My dog is simply incredible. She understands the conversations we have in the home. Sometimes, we talk about security and there she goes guarding the door. When we talk about getting hungry, she gets to the kitchen first. When my daughter says its time for dog bath, my dog would hide under the car. When I say I am going to sleep, she hops to the couch and take her nap. Oh well...

hi eileenleyva I also thought that about the last dog I had as she always seemed to know what I was talking about. When I said I was hungry she was halfway to the kitchen before I could move. When I tried to hide from a salesman she hunkered down behind the sofa as if to say come on hide with me then when the salesman persisted in ringing the doorbell she put on a real show, barking then growling. the man left in a hurry. I had to laugh a nd she came over and sat down on my feet a big silly grin on her face. she knew she really did. The silly thing is she loved people and never got surly with any one. but she sure put on an act as a really vicious dog.

Oh, Hatley, did you really hide behind the sofa when a salesman was at the door?

I don't know if they understand our conversations, but it's sure they understand our attitude. I think after a lifetime spent beside us, our dogs know what we are thinking, and that's why they react like this. Your dog seems so attached to you, maybe her life before the pound wasn't a happy one.

My dog is now the princess of my home, and I, her maidservant.

Yeah, we all are our dogs maidservants. I became my dog's servant from the first day they came into my life. But don't they deserve the princely treatment we give them?

That is like my brother. When we talk about house chores he goes somewhere out of reach or somewhere we can't see him but he is always around when there is food on the table.

That's dogs for you sweetie. Mine tend to run for the gates when i get the leashes. They don't even give me time to clip it on. I think they know and understand more than we think. TATA.

Yup. And when my dog likes a belly rub, she pokes me with her nose and then bends her head down. When my attention is on her, she lies down and prepares for the rub. Hay!

Yes, my dog understands stuff like that too, so sometimes we have to be a bit careful with what we say in front of him. Like, we can't talk about going for walks, because he will think that we are going immediately, and things like that. Dogs learn very fast!

Yup, my dog sniffed everything inside and outside my home for a few days before he actually accepted my daughters and I as her new mistresses. Dogs indeed learn fast.

Sounds a little like my cat. My cat, Lucky knows when he is being talked about. He will actually respond when we start talking about him. Animals are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. It's a good thing that your dog can understand conversations because that means she knows what you guys want and what is expected of her.

yeh it is really amazing how animals what we are trying to say to them. but not all dogs i think has this talent. i guess if you are the owner of the dog that you will create a special bond and that you can communicate well with your pet.

Come to think of it, that is true as well. Not all dogs really respond as if they understand their masters.

Nice :) One of my dogs, when she used to stay inside, she would talk to my grandfather. He would ak her "what do you want" and she would responde "Rua" which means outside in portuguese. Then she would go to the door and sit there until he opened it for her.

Wow this is really incredible! I wish I had a pet too but my mother says it is difficult to look after and care for an animal, and if we cannot do justice to its well-being because of being busy,we should not keep a pet. Wish you and your pet lot of togetherness!

Doggies really need care and attention. When you think you can give time for a dog, get one and be responsible for its daily welfare.

Hiya eileen, I did have a Dog like that too a Border Collie and he knew what I was going to do without saying a single word. Call it routine if you like that´s how he knew. But many times he could not have known what I was going to do and he was already one step ahead of me. Different things because I used to play so many different Games with him. He had a strong sixth sense too and he could always catch you out he was like a mind reader. The trouble was I had to go out to Work early every morning Monday to Friday and I wish I could have given him more quality time.

Hiya eileen, Yes he did love me and I him. When I left for Spain he would go up to my Bedroom and lie on the Carpet for ages waiting for me to come back. I did not find that out till years later. It upset me but I could not take him with me otherwise I would have done so.

Yup, dogs are so much fun. My Artemis hid under the car and when I opened the gates, she dashed out. My daughters ran after her because there's a Php 2,000 penalty for dogs unleashed. When my younger daughter caught up with our princess, she simply said Artemis, I can't go walking with you now. The dog came back.

Hi Eileen, You are just simply a great silent dog trainer. you're able to provide a good environment for your dog to be so keen about what's happening and even understand what you are discussing about. she is indeed incredible! how's the weekend?

My doggy is pampered a bit. My daughters just adore her. My dog even has a facebook account! If I am not mistaken, she has more pics than I do, ha ha! The weekend is just fine, ms. My daughter had an exam Saturday morning and we had another marathon movie viewing till the twilight hours. We had an evening Sunday mass for the first time in a long, long while and we discovered the choir was real good. And you?

That is why it is said that dogs are man's best friend. In fact all pet animals do understand the vibrations of a human being.Thats why they adjust with us.But We are the animals who dont want to adjust with anyone.
