"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people GROAN (emphasis mine).Proverbs 29:2 "When the wicked are in authority transgression increases, but the righteous will look upon their (Living Bible: "the tyrant's") downfall". Proverbs 29:16 Does this feel familiar to anyone? What think you?

Seems like a platitude to me: when the leader is bad, the people are mad; when the leader is good, the people are happy. I strongly suspect that this is going to feel familiar to everyone seeing as we've all had leaders we disapprove of and leaders we approve of. Personally, I wasn't much of a Bush fan.

"it's about the DESTRUCTION of our freedom and sovereignty and our every protection." LOL, so I guess the patriot act didn't do any of that destruction at all did it? Who signed in the patriot act to start with? Very short memory span.

Are you happy with the state of our union? I know few people who are. This isn't about Bush; this is about NOW. It's not a personality contest; it's about the DESTRUCTION of our freedom and sovereignty and our every protection.

I think that this isn't the Religion topic and that you should post your discussions in the appropriate areas. I also think that you should take a look at history so that you can see that there have been plenty of times when the people groaned while those in authority were righteous. But, again, this isn't the appropriate place for a religious discussion.

What are the two topics that engender the most "heated" discussions and responses? Religion and politics. And the two are intertwined. It is God who instituted government, based on His principles. Intitially, we were not meant to even have kings. Beyond further diatribe, we have devised systems of man antithetical to God's principles and intent. God has said that, when Jesus returns, "the government shall be on His shoulders". One has only to look at the tenets of Islam, designed to be much more than just "religion", but an all encompassing ethos, including political determination and Sharia Law as well.

So, what you're saying is that you're simply trying to elicit responses by bringing a religious discussion to the political board...or that you're obsessed...one or the other.

Seems to me someone already posted this not long ago. People have been groaning for a long time now it didn't start yesterday. Although I am sure some people would like to think it did.

I'm not aware of any previouse postings. But, I beg to differ with you re the intensity of the pain and fright we are now experiencing as a once free society. Never before has our country been under an attack of this magnitude and never before have we been in such peril. There has always been dissatisfaction, complaining, fault-finding, etc. but never at such a level, as our freedom and sovereignty are being assaulted and removed, our country dismantled. And there is, rightfully, real fear. In the over 200 years of our existence as a free republic, never has our system of laws and protections been eradicated as our country is being mislead into a descent into socialism, our Constitution spat upon, our Judeo-Christian roots trampled, and our rights taken away.
