Are you also doing the same thing especially in public toilets like in malls or other establishments? I remembered that my mother taught me to use my foot in flushing the toilet when i was still a kid. She said that the handle of the flush contains many germs so avoid touching it as much as possible. So then, it all started to use my foot! hehehe! Sorry for the weird topic, as usual, I am just curious! hehehe!

Yes, I always use my foot on flushing the toilets I use in public. You're not alone :) Oh and guess what? It was found out that most toilet door handles are the cleanest part of public restrooms...that's because people who use the restrooms don't want to touch the handles after washing their hands. Have a nice day!

Hello Kyel_11, I can't say I have tried that. I used to wash my hands with soap after I used public toilets. Dry it with tissue paper and bring some tissue paper to cover my hands while pushing the toilet door. I think using your feet would be very difficult in some cases depending on what you wear and chances are, if you slip, you might have your foot on the toilet bowl - hehehehe

I mean bring some tissue paper to cover my hands while pushing the "restroom door".

I often use my foot to flush in public restrooms, just because it feels gross to touch something in a punlic restroom with my hands. In reality, there re probably just as many germs on door handles and sink handles, too. :o

Yes I have done that. I usually use my foot in public toilet if there's no tissue. If there's tissue paper then I'll just wrap my fingers with that. I agree with your mother that its dirty. Hmm but is there a place with no germs? That's what our immune system is for. Kidding aside, no matter what we use lets just be sure to flush it and then wash our hands after.

I had used my feet to flush the toilet until one day I missed and my foot had got a wash. So I stopped using my foot and just use a napkin or tissue instead.

Yes. I also do that. That is what my mom taught me, too. I even taught my sisters and my friends to do the same. Well, I think that is just the safest way. I can even recall that I went to the mall and the flush lever at eye level making it impossible for me to use my feet. Still, I used my foot. I just made a 180 degrees kick to reach that. lol

i think it is better to use a toilet paper to flush the toilet. I mean you also have to be considerate. not all people who use public toilets use their foot to flush the toilet. You are making the flush handle dirtier and people can get sick because of that. just sharing my thoughts here. anyway, your discussion isn't weird. I actually like it.

Public toilets can be a nuisance. you just never know how sanitary they really are. I have never seen anyone flush with their foot before though. I think that if i did that I would probably end up on the floor!

Guilty me! I also do that especially when I ran out of tissue inside my bag. But, there are toilets that use push button flushes, I can't imagine how you can use foot with that... Joke!

hahahahahah LOL! I am GUILTY! Yes I always use my foot to flush the toilet only in public toilets though. C'mon let's be honest, our public toilets are really messy, has a bad odor, and sometimes there is no water to flush the toilet. These are the main reasons why I always use my foot to flush the toilet.

When the public toilets are really filthy, I use my foot to flush. But when it's moderately clean, I get a piece of tissue paper and I use my hand. I'm very iffy about using public toilets, as you can see.

WoW! Have never heard about such way, but I am also bit sensitive about hygienics. I've been always using paper handkerchiefs. But it's a great idea! Thanks ;)

especially in public toilets. whenever i don't have any spare tissue, i use this technique for me not to touch it. i can't imagine touching it even if it's in a 5star hotel.

Well, I suppose anything is possible these days! It does sound like a good idea though in terms of hygiene! We don't know what is lingering on the flush buttons and we could catch something I guess! I've never actually done that myself although there's always a first time and perhaps I should experiment with that one! I think that you have to be pretty fit as well as flexible if you are going to do that though as it definitely requires a huge stretch of the leg or legs and you don't want to end up falling head first into the loo! Well, I try not to visit the public toilets if I can help it. They tend to be quite smelly, I know that for sure! Andrew

Yeah, I do it, now mostly because most of the women are flushing using their foot, and I don't really want to touch the flush where their shoes has been. LOL. . Sometimes I encountered a comfort room where it said that you should never flush using your foot. So I used my hand thinking that maybe other women would also follow the rule.. Though I washed my hand thoroughly after cause you just can never be too sure. Hahahaha.
